Anyone have pics of a MGW shifter installed in an FC?
« on: December 19, 2011, 07:12:20 PM »
Hey sorry to make such a useless topic but I need to see a pic of what the f-body MGW shifter on a f-body T56 in the FC looks like. I am just running a ws6 store short shifter handle and it sits pretty center in my shift boot but I am curious where the shifter will
will sit with the MGW.

I am aware of being able to clock it to the 6 o'clock position but i fear it will sit too far back.

My t56 shifts great but i would really like to see what the MGW feels like but dont want an akward placed shifter.

Thanks guys, and yes I know I am being stupid and OCD here lol

I am in for pics as well... I have the same concern as my shifter sits perfectly centered in the stock hole. I have a Hurst base in the car now, and was going to buy a 5 inch short stick.

If I go MGW I was thinking of leaving it clocked at 9.

MGWs are the best, so if the placement seems good, I'm going for it.

I drove Charlie's car at SNS and I was impressed with the MGW in his car...I didn't notice the placement or appearance to being anything other than good.

This is with the shifter clocked at 6 O'clock with Pez mounts. I don't have any other shifters to compare this to besides stock but the throw is very short and precise.

I don't have any pics of mine but I am using the Mustang stick and not the fbody 3,6,9,12 style. I like it.
I do love what I do!

Ignorant question here..

Can the MGW F Style shifter be installed with the Tremec Magnum F-Style in the FC?  Or does the transmission have to be dropped?

I can't find enough images on the internet to figure out from my couch.

My transmission got installed without my knowledge.  Not that I am complaining, at least it is installed.

I’ve had both the Fbody T56 and the Magnum F in my FC. I have Ronin engine and trans mounts.

So the problem is the front 2 shifter bolts are blocked. If you drill 2 holes in the tunnel to get to them, yes the shifter will come out without dropping the transmission. I made a small plate that attached to the stock inner boot that covered the holes.
