I have been blindsighted by a sea of estrogen and the deal had to be cancelled. This car will still be for sale.
 My apologies to everyone.

Just a heads up to people looking at this car:  It has a lot of good parts, but it is still incomplete.  The tune needs to be finished so it will idle normal and not die occasionally, the speedo is in kph and fluctuates fairly wildly.  Same with the tach.  Headlights kicked off on me 3 times during my 10 min test drive and took a while to turn back on.  Also the current intake and exhaust seems a little restrictive (cutout works fine though)

On the bright side, the car rides very well with few squeaks and rattles, the underside had no rust or anything i could see, and the clutch is very driveable considering the power it can hold.  Not trying to bash Jay in any way, this car is still a good deal for someone who knows what they're doing.

Arrived in FL today to pick up the car, needless to say I had to pass. The car just wasn't for me at the neg price. The seller is a great guy to deal with but here is my description..........

Car was originally MB then painted blk and the paint work is a 10ft job. Haziness, more prep and sand scratches.

Intake system would need upgraded(3in filter sticking out of front bumper opening).

Int has a few problems pass window would roll down unless drivers switch was used, broken pass door handle surround, something causing wetness under pass carpet around PCM,carbon fiber int trim poorly fits.

Headlights had condensation inside them

HVAC blower motor ran low on high setting

Gauge cluster is prolly a JDM swap if the car isn't Canadian so I don't know if chassis mileage is correct.

Engine has the appropriate mods listed,317 heads, fast 90/90 and Hinson LTs.

Oil pressure would settle at 25psi idle and 30+- cruising.......may be normal but I'm just noting it.

Slight vibration at highway speeds

All those issues detoured myself from purchasing the car at agreed price. The seller was more than happy to work with me but I just wasnt feeling it.

Not at all trying to crap the thread nor the seller, just my op after flying to check it out.

What i would like to know is if seller is mechanically inclined enough to know what everyone else knows (whos been looking at this) that it needs things... And if so, why hasn't he stated this as possible issues himself?

I dont know him personally and hes probably a swell guy but i almost went out there to look at this, then we kicked around the idea of shipping it to tx and if i didn't like it ship it back (would have ate a horrible cost in shipping to not buy it OR ate round trip tickets and cab money). I asked him if i went out there, was it good to go and wouldn't have issues driving back to tx, he said it was good to go... with all thats being said now im guessing not?

I dodged a multi-hundred dollar bullet. :yay:
I own nothing cool anymore...

I have lowered the price to 15,000.00

It is true that the car has a few things that make it not perfect but mechanically it would definately make it to texas. The issed the guy listed were paint, interior etc. The car is not a show car at all it is a fast car. For someone who wants a ls powered car at a good price this is the one. Most people who buy these could easily fix an issue like the tach jumping around or the door handle panel on the door being loose. The problem is i bought it and did not like how loud it was or that it did not have ac so i started paying to have anything fixed that i or anyone else did not like. I eventually purchased a tesla roadster and have not driven the rx since. I have put over 8k into cleaning this up mechanically and feel very confident that it would drive across the country without trouble. we have been over every system of the car since to ensure its safety. The brakes had cheap fittings these were all changed. The fuel line was improperly mounted. I replaced it all and had high dollar fittings put on it. The tranny mounts were properlly installed, new hid headlights, new high flow radiator fans were installed that come on with temperature sensors and it now runs 170-180 degrees.  I have not really spent much on interior or paint because i figured enough was enough. Anyway i appreciate your honesty on the forum and wish you luck with your new car.

Personally, I think the price reflects the car and what it has.  15 grand is a good deal, you are going to be getting a project still for that price.

I was interested in this car, but the carfax got me worried

a) it's probably high mileage (car had 115kmiles in 2002)

b) I can deal with an accident on carfax, but "severe damage" really does not sound good

03/05/2005    JACKSON, MS
State Agency    RIGHT SIDE IMPACT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE (Case #:200500045832)
SEVERE DAMAGE REPORTED

I think it's ok to post this now since it's available info on the ebay auction

For 15k dollars, this is a really good deal.    I'm not sure exactly what people expect to get at that price.
