Bought a Neon...

I sold my '05 Legacy GT Limited a few days ago. Ever since I first heard one, I've ALWAYS wanted an SRT4. Yeah, it's a Neon, it's FWD, and it has crank windows in the rear... but fuck it. I'm just going to drive it for the summer as my DD and call it good. For the record I hate the stupid "Stage" thing they do with these cars. So without further adieu, here she is:

2005 Dodge Neon SRT, Sunroof, factory LSD, Viper Seats, factory Kicker sound system

Mod List:
-Mopar Stage 3 with turbo toys
-Mopar Stage 1 lowering springs
-Mopar cold air intake
-Maxxfab 3" downpipe to Mopar/Borla catback exhaust
-Exhaust Depot direct fit intercooler
-N2MB electronic boost controller
-NGK wideband Air/Fuel Monitor
-Color matched eyelids
-20% tint all around

It's got 63,000 miles, clean title/no accidents, and I'm picking it up on Sunday for $9,000. It has a cracked windshield and dent on the front left fender, both of which I'll be getting fixed immediately. It has brand new summer tires as well.





This is basically going to just be a car I'm going to drive on really hot days when AC is necessary and any other time it isn't beautiful outside.

I remember that when I was younger... I mean with these cars it's effective and much easier than telling people all of your mods... kind of like how it is with Subarus, but still makes me feel like a n00b lol (which, to a degree I am I guess).

I've never driven a "quick" FWD car, so it will be weird getting used to this thing.

Last generation bought "3/4 race cams" in the 60's.  Its all the same marketing bullshit with slightly different wording.  3/4 race cam is worse than stages in my opinion, but only just.  I laugh at both terms, but only because I have some understanding of WHY the parts are higher performing than others.  If I was doing the marketing for a company I would probably use similar lingo because most people don't even know the very fundamentals of auto technology.

I generally agree, but I'm hoping this one has been driven hard vs. abused. From my talks with the owner, he seems to take good care of her, and I'll do the same.

Why not? The SRT4 is cheap, fun, and pretty reliable. The Legacy was expensive, not really a ton of fun, and pretty reliable. I'm only 21, so this car still fits me lol.

what does it get MPG?

Probably not very good, but with the bigger turbo it should be better than a stock one. Once I've driven it I will let you know.

Take a small light car and put  go fast goodies on it.
That is just what the manufacturer did. I like em just because of that.
