Started out as a flat paper-thin fiberglass hood from a small company in NC that had E-prod molds.  Same for the front end.

The sheet metal hump itself is an air intake/cleaner assembly, still need to make a foam element to go in it.  The little black piece is just an ABS piece held on by allen bolts so I can get at the air cleaner hold down nut.  It ducts air from a box section that was welded to the firewall to draw fresh air from the cowl/wiper area.  It was the only way I could make something work with a tall 4150 style intake and 4150 throttle body without a big cowl induction hood which I didn't want.  It didn't look right with just a hole cut, so I built up a flange around it, and did the same this morning for the radiator cuts which are fed directly from an ABS airbox that vee's out around the radiator.  It's a bit short (the hood had more of a curve than I'd anticipated), so I need to find a thick seal to seal the assembly to the hood (probably use a garage door seal or something).

Here's a bit better frontal view of both.  It just curves up and then you can see it drop down a bit to mate up to the firewall.  Looks better in photos than in person  :D

Working on a fun project. Here is a Weld for a gm maf flange. Was pretty happy with the outcome after pulling an all nighter and burning this at 6 in the morning completly dead tired! Also LS7 Throttle body with 4" wiggins clamp installed!

Killer!  Nice job on the dissimilar thickness weld, especially with aluminum.

Thanks! Supe yea it took abit of heat. The tube is 16ga but I had the machine set to 200 amps for that weld.

Dissimilar like that is always hilarious. tungsten focused way far away from the actual seam.

This, despite being really simple is probably the nicest cage I've done, its in a Ford Cortina. The customer seems really pumped about it, always a good feeling.

Basic Jeep cage, plating in the baseplates for this took me a full day, trying to look online to see how other people did it gave me braindamage.

Closeup of the chassis to frame connection, you can see where I went out of position to in position, but whatever.

dopey fuel pump bracket, gets the most likes on IG since its dimpled. sigh.

Noob question. Is the HAZ larger on that section of weld from you moving position or what?

I'll get one tommorow, but I also did an exhaust and header for it and have this one.

the color is most likely from making a full pass, that first bit I was out of position so its actually 2-3 start/stops and the post flow to go with it.
