Was your garage floor 4" thick?

I drilled a small test hole before I bought the lift. I ended up having around 7" of concrete.

I have built a couple shops that were planing on installing lifts and they always specify a 4'x4'x2' area of concrete with a nice two layer grid of rebar that is woven into the floor grid for each base to land on. Two foot depth was considered a minimum, we usually went more because its easy. Other than that you garage looks great. My wife promised that I can build a shop or second garage with a lift when we build our next home.

The manufacture requires a 4" thickness at 3000psi minimum. My floor exceeds that by at least 3". My father in-law rents commercial space to shop owners. They all have installed their lifts on his 6" thick floor with no extra support. I tried my best to research this out. I have been very concerned about this. If it appears that the anchors will not hold once I put a load on it, I will pour new slabs.

I saw a similar product where I bought my lift. I wanted it but I couldn't justify the $1600 price tag.

The guys on garage journal will crucify you for using pvc for compressed air.  It can fail and shoot shrapnel everywhere.  Coppers cheap.

Thats a surprise to me. I've used it in the past and it is rated at 400psi

If it is inside and out of sunlight it is not a big deal. If it ever broke it is not going to shoot shrapnel everywhere, it will just break. A couple pieces may come off but it is not going to be like a bomb went off.

+1.  Dunno about the shrapnel tho.  I have had PCV break on me for air hose.  I use galvanized pipe.  Cheeper than copper.

Meferri, have you checked the price of copper lately?

I agree with Pez. Copper is high. I have the PVC ran so I will use it till a problem comes up.

Today I'm working on getting the bench tops covered. I've got the glue down waiting to tack up.

I just picked up that same press from greg smith equip, They gave me the air powered bottle jack, but the box with the press says its for the HT0702, but thats the non air assisted model, what did your box say, if you still have it? The air assisted model is HT0704.

I'm going to put it together as it looks the same on the site's measurements, just different bottle jack.

Edit: went together fine.
