Yeah :/ he wasn’t too too far from us. Was supposed to hit up c&c sometime but he said his health issues were keeping him close to his house. I thought he was much older honesty...just assumed based on what he was going through.

Very shocking and terrible to see.

Wow, So sorry to hear this.   May God bless his soul, and be with his friends and family, as well as watching over the injured passenger.

This is horrible. I just looked at his obituary, funeral is the 21st at 11 a.m.

I am actually in the area for a work related TDY until the 23rd. I may go pay respect to him and his own.

Such a tragic reminder of the risks we take behind the wheel of these cars. This is heart wrenching.

13 years of abuse and still running STRONG!

Wow - not how I, or any of us wanted to see this thread finished out.  My heart goes out to his family and friends - what an incredible loss.

I was reading all the updates he did - and was super impressed that he was taking it back in the direction I always intended and in particular, his attention to the little details.  It was one of the things I always focused on when building and I had logged in to see what he had done.  Words cannot describe....

I sold this car because I was concerned that some day I would end up allowing the car to take me somewhere I couldn't get back from.  It was a trip to 199 mph one night that sealed the deal for me to let it go.  This car was a labor of love, and what at the time I thought would be the last one I built for myself.  I'll never stop building, but when a car you build and put your heart into is what someone was driving when the situation they were in resulted as it did, it gives you great pause.
