What about STL?  Gateway does friday night Midnight Mayhem events that include drag racing and drifting, and they have a road course that uses their circle track as well.

Or maybe Route 66 in Joliet.  Autobahn is literally like 5 miles away and if someone has any SVT or Porsche club buddies up there (Chicago guys should know someone) we may be able to get an invite to one of thier events.

BTW, I voted for Indy out of the current list.

I like STL, but I have family there, so I'm biased.

edit:  STL also has a cool museum/auction place that is close to the track that's worth seeing.   It's like an old grocery store, but full of muscle cars and hot rods, all on display, but also for sale.

Are you talking about Fast Lanes, off 370 & 94 in St Charles?  Just west of the river?  I didn't know there was a track near there...  :(    I used to live off W Clay & Duchesne.

No, I'm talking just East of the river in Collinsville area.

Gateway International Raceway can't be more than 45 minutes from anywhere in STL area though?

I've heard that they are closing the oval, last I heard that was nothing definite on the strip though.

OK, I've been to Gateway but didn't know about the car showroom near there - that's what threw me.  I moved away from there in '06, just before I got my FD.

I vote for BG but like Berto says, a place to go to if problems arise would be nice.
You can make a barn door fly with enough horsepower.

Retirement at last.  Wife's not happy, I bought a '66 Rustang instead of paying off my F150.

I was at Gateway for the LSX Shootout a couple of weeks ago with my Mazda and they are going to close the track at the end of the season. There was a lot of talk about bringing the LSX Shootout to Indy next year.

Any idea on when this would be confirmed?  Could you keep me in the loop?

I wish I wouldn't have added the 'I like turtles' selection because now I don't know what those ppl would have voted for.
