Some more progress on the car today.

Pulled the dash, ran the engine harness into the interior, and cut the sheetmetal for the radiator.

Harness run:

Sheet metal trimmed back for the radiator, and primed:

Dash, blower motor, and A/C evaporator pulled, harness run into interior, prepping to do the engine bay tuck (and documentation for it):

A bit of documentation:

For the LT1 steam tube (this would also work for an LS1 steam tube, FWIW) I'm going to be using an inline adapter from Jegs.   Part no: JEGS 51155

This has a 1/4 NPT threaded port that a barb can be installed in.   It will be installed in the upper radiator hose.  It's also cheaper than the JTR or other options I've seen by about 15-20 bucks.

I'll post up when I figure out part numbers for the radiator and heater hoses also.

No, it's just an eBay special.  All aluminum, 3" core, something like 24" wide by 18" tall.    Should fit the Taurus fan well.  It's narrow enough to fit without hacking all the sheetmetal out like I've had to with 27" wide units.

Sweet.   I have a 1994-96 Camaro radiator that came with the engine/trans and has the hoses attached, hopefully I can make at least one of them work.   :)   Thanks for the tip.

I used both radiator hoses off a 1996 Camaro.  The pass side was direct fit and the driver side i had to trim to shorten it a bit.
It will depend on the location of the radiator connections .
Here is a picture of the ones I got from Rock Auto with their numbers

LT1 water pump connections are 1 1/4".  The Jegs adapter you plan to use is 1 1/2"

Yeah, the hose will stretch just fine, done it before.   Just soak it in some hot water for a couple minutes first.   :)

Thanks for the tip on the hoses, I have both of those in the garage, so hopefully I can follow your lead on that (as I am on several parts of this build. ;)).

sweet build, I'm watching this build for my own, pretty much the same setup, but somehow, I doubt my wiring is gonna be that purdy. So I'm thinking of a 23" wide radiator now that you mention how it's easier to mount and all. So for EGR block off, do you just cut some block off plates out of sheet metal or something? then the steam vent, i still don't even really get what that's for? is it like an air bleeder valve?

that red intake manifold is pretty pimp, it is kinda Ferrari like.

The LT series engines have a reverse flow cooling system.
It was such an efficient and groundbreaking arrangement that GM dumped it after 5 years.

Basically, the coolant flows first through the heads and then down into the block.
The rear of the heads tend to run hotter and create steam pockets which screws up the entire flowpath, so GM introduced "steam vents" that vent back into the loop (typically to the AST) in an attempt to solve the issue.

Pretty wiring is my specialty.  ;)

FWIW, the LS1 also has steam vents.     Partially because of the dry intake manifold in that case.

Some more updates.    Radiator is in, paint is touched up, upper radiator hose and heater hoses in place.

Touched up paint.   The flash washed it out a bit, it actually matches the stock paint very well.

Nice.  What is this "ebay special" radiator and how much does one like that set you back?  Working on low funds, some OEM type rad that can fit close enough would be great for me.

Defenistrator, I'm thinking the ebay special is probably $140-150 shipped whereas you might get a stock radiator from some car to work, but new it'll be probably at least $100, and I read that those aluminum ebay radiators cool 4-5 times better, you know it gets pretty hot sometimes here in NC.

Did you mention the dimensions on the radiator?
