Woot woot!  I saw you post and wondered if it might have been paint...  Just ran FTD at the Hilo autocross so I was thinking about you.

Thanks! I have extra paint so I can reshoot it if I mess it up. Really happy with how well it came out.

Let us know how that Summit paint holds up to rock and sand chips.
I'm considering single stage for my Pro-Challenge car.  I wonder if the Summit stuff is flexible enough not to crack on the thin fiberglass shell.

Will do. My friend says it seemed to be of decent quality. It was about $110 I believe for the gallon of paint, activator, and reducer. I will keep everyone updated. The paint did lay down really nicely.

Looks awesome!  My friend's shot their drift cars with single stage meant for big rigs I think.  it has held up well and so easy and cheap to touch up.  the infamous last words of any car guy "I'll be done by dinner"  :D

Thanks guys. I'll have some more pictures tomorrow. The car is mostly back together, I just painted and put the taillights back in today. I still need to put the sunroof delete panel on and align the fenders and bumper, and it will be drive able again.

The front and rear trim is back on.. don’t worry :)

The car has been running perfect. When I decide on what to do with the transmission, I’m going to pull the motor and trans and either upgrade or service the trans. At that time I will probably swap the heads, intake and throttle body.

Car is fully back together now. I had been doing restoration and detail items here and there when I had time. There was quite a bit that needed some attention.

The taillights have looked like crap since I got the car 10 years ago, the front and side window trim needed attention, especially with new paint. The studs for my FTP lenses broke when I removed them from the bumper for paint. The gasket for the 3rd brake light was petrified solid.. and on and on :)

As everyone knows this isn’t a show car so I was not going to buy new trim and new FTP lenses, let alone new tail lights. And whatever else. So JB Weld and SEM Trim Black paint to the rescue! I really like the SEM Trim Black spray paint. It lays down nicely and is dry to the touch in 5 minutes. The stuff is great, and the perfect satin black.

I JB welded the FTP lens studs back together. Also used SEM Trim Black on the windshield molding.

The taillights have always had white swirl marks and scratches on the black areas. The lenses are perfect. I had to sand the taillights a bit to clean them up. They came out pretty nice. They would have needed a little filler to get all the scratches out 100%, but I didn’t go that far.

I was dreading putting the sunroof delete back on but it went easier than anticipated. I used seam sealer and that was easier to work with than I expected. Laid down a small bead  around the perimeter, and a bit in each rivet hole and riveted it back down.

I’ll get some better pictures tomorrow when I get it out of the garage.
