Yea it was my bad using the Craftsman extension for this. Oh well.. Sears is right next to my office, so it is not a huge inconvenience. I was going to fill the compressor and try my impact, but I do not have a 32mm impact socket. The quick trip down the road was worth it to get it off at least.

I should buy one of those reduction units.. pretty cool.

This one was about $700 new.  My dad bought it for his machine shop and used it once.  I have only used it twice in the last 5 or 6 years.  It is on my list of things to sell - eventually.

Wow didn't realize it was that much! I figured it might be a couple hundred.

Probably could pick up a used one cheaper.  Mine is the Williams Brand lower load level 750 ft-# max TM-290 or 291 with the case (I think).

Supposedly list for $900 according to amazon.....  definitely not the run of the mill cheap to pick up tool.

I pulled off the rear hubs this weekend to fix my outer CV grease issues and install a bushing I've had lying around for a year or more - the PBM upper rear upright bushing. They sell it for under $30 and it fits excellent. The old rubber one came out with a long bolt and a couple sockets. That was the last rubber bushing on the car.

FYI - if you have the Ronin 8.8 kit and use non Turbo II outer CVs (turbo 626 for example), you need a spindle but for a 1980-2012 Honda Civic. The Turbo II spindle nuts have too fine of a thread pitch and won't work. You need M22x1.5 spindle nuts.

My outer CV grease venting issue appeared to be a CV boot clamp that was too loose. The grease inside looked ok, and there was still a good amount in there so I left it alone and re clamped it tighter with a new clamp. I think I'll be good now.

I got my new starter solenoid and it looks to be the correct piece, I got that on the starter in a couple minutes, and we will see how that works.

I did find a small mess behind the starter. My crank angle sensor was weeping a little oil. Got that all cleaned up and now I'm going to go grab a new oring for it. Both the crank and cam sensors (rear cam sensors anyway) use a dash 113 oring, so it's easy to get.

When is your next track event? I'm in socal for the week on a business trip. Was shooting for speed Ventures at fontucky on the 21st, but chickened out. I will be putting as many autox runs on it as I can though :)

I'm going to hit Streets of Willow the 27th or 28th. I have some stuff going on the 20th and they are closing the 91 next weekend so coming home from the track might be a PITA.

You should do the track event. What are you worried about?

If I was still living in socal I would do the track event. I fly back to the east coast the day after. Really I just don't want to break it and then fly away.

Big ones are it needs an oil cooler, tow hook, and the trans seems to be getting grouchy going into gear. Also don't think the brakes can stand up to the roval and I don't know how well the re71r tires I put on it would like 25 minute sessions.

Yea.. I can see that.

If is was not unseasonably warm I would not worry too much,  but your oil will get hot with the current weather. Not blow up hot but you'd probably want to change it after the track day. You don't need a tow hook.. Just don't break :) The trans will handle it, just don't speed shift it... You don't really need to anyway.

The RE71s would probably be ok. They seem pretty durable from what I hear. Some of those ~200 tread wear tires will heat cycle out after a track day. The Pirellis on my friends 5.0 did that. They weren't quite the same on the street after the track day.

So I have had been wanting these for awhile, just never pulled the trigger. These pedal covers are from SRPracing.com. I have always had a little fear in my mind that my foot would slip off the brake when I heel toe while rev matching under braking. It actually has happened once or twice. I was going to physically move the gas pedal closer to the brake, but why not throw more money at the problem instead.

They have a very customizable product on their website with different finishes, colors, and textures on the pedals. I chose their "Grid" pedal with a satin finish. This has the highest coefficient of friction they claim. The dead pedal, brake, and clutch pedal all have little pyramids on them. I think they will have a lot of grip. The gas pedal is smooth and you can see is extended by about 1/2". I'll post when I get these installed. They come with all stainless mounting hardware.

fancy. I've been pretty happy with skateboard grip tape as long as the shoes are dry/not muddy, but fancy options are nice too

I finally installed these pedals. They work great, and the gas pedal extension makes heel toe down shifting under braking much more confidence inspiring.

New toys! That was one of the best things I did when mine still had stock pedals  I had my foot come off a few times in THE worst possible moments with stock pedals haha

Yea I think about my foot slipping off the brake pedal every time I hit the brakes when I am pushing it. I want to get a set of better shoes that are narrower and I'm certain I would have had a problem with the stock configuration.
