Thanks Charlie. I may try that out to sanity check this setup. All I am running for sway bars is an RB front bar. I was running 500/350 before (with different struts though) and the car felt better and was faster with the new setup and stiffer springs. I know that is apples to oranges, but just saying. The tire wear is more consistent now as well. To date, the stiffer I have went in front, the better the car has become. I did go too stiff in the rear and dropped the spring back down to 400.

I have a set of 500# springs already. I would just need to buy a set of 300 lb springs for the rear.

As an aside, the other FC guys here seem to be going stiffer with their spring rates (towards what I'm running).

I did not get to try this setup on a short, technical track this season, and still have a question if it will be too stiff. I think the car will be ok, but we will see. The Streets of Willow track is bumpy in sections.

I bet the RB front bar is too soft and the stiff front springs are compensating. On square setup I don't run a rear bar but with staggered I run a stock rear bar and it seems to balance the car nicely. I found that a .250 wall Speedway front bar works really well on either setup.
I do love what I do!

Yes Charlie, I believe you are right. I would like to go to a speedway front bar setup to drop a couple pounds and get some more adjustment.

Do you mount your speedway bars in the stock locatio. or somewhere else? The Mazdatrix car ran it on top of the frame rail.

There appears to be enough to room to run it in the stock area similar to Joel's speedway bar.

1 1/4 OD front bar? How long is the bar? How long of an arm?  I'm currently running a solid 1 1/4" bar, 37" long with a 7' arm.

I wish I could compare more of my front end setup to what you guys are running.

Ours is 36" long tubular bar, .250 wall, 11"arm. Not sure how you are able to make a 7' arm fit :D

I am sure the SLA front suspension on his car has something to do with it.

I got my scales and weighed the car today. The car is nearly full of fuel (only a gallon or two down), so I was pleasantly surprised with 2686#. An empty tank would put me right at 2600 lbs. This is with 17X9.5 wheels and 275 tires, fire extinguisher, camera mount, 2 quart Accusump, 9.5 quarts of oil, larger front Mandeville brakes, dual 3 inch exhaust..  Everything the car gets driven with.

I can easily get 60-80 lbs off the car. 30lbs of it is the sunroof, and I can get another 30 lbs off by going to a lexan rear hatch window. The car still has 5-10 lbs of extra wiring in it, and all the sound deadening tar in the interior.

I have yet to add the splitter and rear wing, which will probably be around 40 lbs combined.

Total weight, wet with no driver.

Weight on the front, no driver.

Total weight with driver.

Nice. That interior and sound deadening accounted for the difference in weight distribution between us.

Its funny to see adding a driver put more weight on the rear of the car than the front, ha.  ~90lbs of your ~220lbs goes to the front and the rest to the rear according to your numbers.

Well you sit pretty far behind the front wheels, so that makes sense that youd pick up most of it in the rear.

I'm actually surprised how close the cross weights are. I measured and set my droop, shock length, preload and endlinks, but I didn't think I'd net a .1% difference in cross weight in the first shot!

That all goes to hell when I get in the car, but now that I have the scales I can adjust for a driver accurately.

I have the rear stock beam. In front I have a fabricated crash bar. it was not much lighter than stock actually.

I'm telling you Ash, these S4 FC's seem to be lighter after a lsx swap then the S5's do lol. Mine is 2740 wet no driver with all kinds of creature comforts(old ass boston speakers and fosgate sub).

I am really hoping you do a lexan rear hatch and then sell copies of it to members here :). That alone will save you some weight or at least make the soon to be installed areo not any real extra added weight from where you are at right now.
