There is a small plastic tab that retains it on the bottom.   Just release that and take out the 10mm nut and it comes right out.

You pull the grommet back through to the interior and pull the plugs through the grommet hole in the firewall.

Thanks, that helped.

There was no way I could get my hand back there to release the plastic tab - so we just muscled it out.
And the grommet, didn't know that just yanking it from the inside would work.

yeah, the driver foot well is a terribly tight place to try and work with the dash and the seat in.

i pulled my harness out easily today with the dash out.

Oh, yeah, pull the dash.   Don't do that shit with the dash in, that would suck.

digitalsolo in your pics i don't see the three relays that would normally bolt up near the hood latch.  did you mount them somewhere else or are they not needed anymore?

thanks great write up by the way

Hey guys, first post on here. Getting into an rb25det swap into my Fc and doing some dewiring. Got most of it done but wondering if anyone knew what 27a was. I also have two long blue wires coming from near the relays on the front rebar that the clip had been cut off of. Hoping someone could identify what those were supposed to be connected to. Thanks for any help

The blue wires are for the ac pressure switch connecter AC-03

Perfect, id been waiting to chop those off so ill be deleting those. If anyone can help with the 27a plugs those are the last ones I need to figure out.

I have 2 number 33 connectors, not too sure why and what the extra one is for...my car is a 88 FC RHD convertible TII auto so it would make sense that my harness is slightly different.

The passenger side harness that goes in through the firewall can be removed completely. It goes down the passenger side kick panel and down to the ECU which you won't need anymore either. If you want to retain the wipers then you will need to keep the wiper plug from the harness before you dispose of it. It was also recommended to me to keep a few power wires that run through the same plug that the wiper plug is removed from just in case they were needed.

Here's my method:

Make the car work, make everything you need IN the car work.   Locate unused connectors.  Depin them (either completely or to the nearest branch).  Have a drink.

If you want to get fancy, learn to read the diagrams well and see what you can simplify by relocating/eliminating circuits.
