FC/ Ls1 ECU mounting - factory location
« on: November 17, 2024, 02:18:24 AM »
Hey all I'm new here. Thank you for all that I've learned so far from lurking around.

I have been trying to find information/ photos on how people are mounting the ls1 ecus in the factory ECU location. Does anyone have any photos of how they did this? I saw Digitalsolo mention he posted a pic in his thread somewhere but his thread doesn't have pics anymore or atleast they won't show up for me.

Thank you for any help.

Hmm, not sure why the pics are gone on that.

I take up the steel plate under the passenger footwell carpet and put the ECU under there.

The guy who originally built my car just stuck the ECU under the foot plate and let it knock around loose. I don't recommend that approach but it lasted a lot longer that way than it had any right to.

LRB speed makes a universal mounting plate solution for that location but it's pretty easy to fabricate yourself with a little bit of sheet aluminum and some transfer punches.

Thank you both for the response. I always like to see how others have done stuff before trying to invent my own way.

Maybe I'll bolt a dirty dingo mount to the bottom of that plate. I definitely don't plan to let it float around in there.

Thank you again
