Do I understand correctly that these are a must for the 8.8 swap plus donor explorer and T2 axles?

I will let the expert answer below.  I bought these 12 years ago or so.  I went with Grande recently and have not refreshed my memory on this kit.

Yes.  You need 8.8 inners and T2 outers, plus these.
