Project Car 1993 Base Model RX-7 LS1/T56- $25K
« on: June 13, 2024, 08:55:45 PM »
I'm calling it quits on this one.  Its been sitting for well over a decade in the garage and I prefer to have it gone before I move...  Not giving it away but will price it to move.  Purchased the car back in 2004, had it running at one point and pulled the interior and radiator and its been sitting for over a decade...

      Located in Virginia Beach, VA

      • Purchased in 2004 with 13X miles and parted the rotary as soon as I got it. Clean title, but the Carfax shows a milage discrepancy before I owned it. Can't recall the previous owners specifics but I was comfortable enough to buy it back then.
      • Was Montego blue with a tan interior, but has been resprayed Honda B96P, Eternal Blue Pearl and the interior replaced with black
      • Was painted a very reputable shop (Hi-dust auto body which is now closed but search VAdriven for reviews).  We used the top of the line Sherwin Williams paint at the time.
      • Genuine 99 spec front
      • New fender liners, undertray, coolant and windshield fluid bottles
      • Rotary Extrement HIDs
      • Fikse Mach Vs
      • Hinson Swap Kit and I have one Samberg style rear diff mount (Hinson mount installed the other comes with the car
      • LS1 and T56 that had 32K at the time
      • New clutch
      • Howe radiator kit
      • Full set of uninstalled speedhut gauges
      • New black leather seat covers with new seat belt guides
      • 99 spec rear seats
      • 93 interior prices were stripped and re-sprayed black
      • complete set of lower milage suspension arms and Mazdaspeed bushings come with the car (uninstalled)
      • GAB coilovers
      • Widefoot sway bar mounts and aftermarket toe inks (I think)
      • pioneer TV head unit in box
      • extra f-body pan and improved oil pan baffle

       The Bad:
      • Has only been driven 5-10 miles in the past two decades (one short open header trip with my wife and one trip to the local exhaust shop)
      • The entire interior is out (I mean the entire interior...).  Will work on this tomorrow and should have most of it back in
      • The seats are in pieces/ need to be put back together
      • I started to remove the sound reading and let the last 10% (honestly the hard part is still left...)
      • I tossed the carpet

Will rinse it off and take a few pics/ videos tomorrow.

Sounds like a nice starting point to finish a build.  My CFO told me no more cars or I'd be interested.

Tell her you plan to finish and sell it for a profit...  All the parts are there.

Threw the interior in the car just to take inventory (nothing is bolted down) and nothing major is missing. I rinsed it off but did not wash it as it had a decade of dust and needs to be clay bared to avoid swirl marks.  Didn't want to ruin a $5,500 paint job (that's 2005 dollars and I'd hate to see what an all over cost these days).

PM me your email for larger photos/ videos.

I had my garage painted and they chipped/ scratched the doors when pushing the cars out; ready to move on...   Looking for a quick painless sale at $25K.  The car can be parted for more than that (if it doesn't sell by closing, I'll just tow it up to Angle Motorsports and have them wrap it up).
