FC Diff Upgrade with Question About Front Diff Mount
« on: February 24, 2024, 10:03:37 AM »
Most of us haven been here!

Finally used up my S4 NA LSD! Bought it '22 from a honest seller, knowing it had diff issues. Definitely had a loud "whirrr" coming from the diff. I immediately changed the gear oil and here's what came out

That was 1.5yrs and 3 sets of rear tires ago! My set up is basic, (LS1/T56 400WHP) but I'm so impressed it hung in there this long.

Once I pulled the subframe I noticed this small ear broke off between the bolt slots for the front diff mount

Will this be sufficient? Didn't realize until it was finished that I don't have anything capturing the bolts

Removed this by mistake...can I replace it with a solid bushing? I'm using the PBM full kit.

Probably, I don't have an FC but here are the MAX bushings. https://store.partsshopmax.com/shop/FC/SolidBushing/

I have their complete kit, but I don't believe they offer a bushing for this. Can I install a solid bushing here:
