Mensa reminds me of the "Honor Society" in high school.  Join this to put on applications/resumes/brag to people.   I stopped caring whether people thought I was smart a long time ago.  I'll let my work speak for itself, you can interpret it however you like.

In my experience, IQ tests are pretty subjective as intelligence presents in a lot of ways.

I'm a fairly smart guy, but I've known people I'd consider more intelligent than me that score way lower than I do, and vice versa.  It's as much about how well you manage a test as it is about how intelligent you are.

Absolutely, same here Blake.

There is a decent tie to general knowledge too. Someone that grew up without an education may be a genius without a way to harness it. The test is more about the way to harness it I think.
