Ball joint help

Hello all it’s been awhile since I’ve been on here but recently bought a 87 shell that I’m going completely thru for another v8 swap. Had a 87 lt1 then 4.8 swap for 11 years sold it a few years ago but I’m back with another build. My question is this car has the press in style ball joints my old car had the bolts to bolts on them. A 5 lug conversion was done on the car before I bought it. Did Mazda change the style of ball joints with the s5 ?

Yes, Mazda changed the ball joint style with the S5.
Mazda does not sell the lower ball joint separate, you have to buy the whole control arm to replace it. My car is converted back to S4 LCAs (even though it is an S5) specifically for this reason.
