Decent, cheap go-pro clone?
« on: March 06, 2022, 05:00:40 AM »
I was thinking of getting a Go-pro style camera, mainly to record my suspension to diagnose a knock under braking.

I doubt it will get used that much and runs the risk of getting destroyed, so I am looking for a cheap alternative to go pro. It still needs to have decent picture quality.

Anyone got any suggestions?

i have a go pro hero 5.   I would look into the small gopro cameras they make now.  Its like the Hero Session.  Those are all like $200-$350 right now though.   You could try your luck with a Chinese knock off that has decent amazon reviews.

I've bought a couple Go-Pro knockoffs and everyone has had the same issue - terrible audio quality. If you actually want it to sound decent at all, get a real one or one you're certain can use an external mic.

Exactly - I bought one a few years ago - And it was advertised like its even better the original GoPro - It was horrible - Video quality - Just the entire design was bad.  I think what really led me to buy the junk was how well they advertised it on the Internet.  But in reality - It was nothing but junk.  It literally broke in about 8 to 9 months.
