FC wheels and tires
« on: September 05, 2021, 10:26:44 PM »
I am wanting new wheels and tires for my 86 FC. I kinda like the looks of the american racing outlaw wheels but I am not sure the make them taller than 15 inch.
I had switched the hubs to turbo 2 so I have 5 lug now
I am open to all suggestions and I would like to have some fatties in the back but dont want to go too extreme.

Can't go wrong with 17x9 Cobra R wheels for fit and availability.

I will have to check the backspacing for sure.

Is anyone running 18" by 9.5" wide wheels on an FC?  DP
86 FC Sport; LS Iron block swap with 243 heads, Texas Speed cam, headers & tune.  T56 six speed with Ford 8.8 IRS (3.55).  FA 500 coil-overs, Suspension Techniques front sway bar, Enkei RPF 17 by 9.5 rims, Wilwood BBK front brakes.  Autopower rollbar, NRG wheel with QR hub and Corbeau drivers seat.

I'm not running them myself but the Apex EC-7 should fit really well, may need a tiny spacer up front.

FYI, I ended up buying some used Enkei RPF1's (17 by 9.5) on FB and just put new Falken 615K+ in 255/40 on them. These wheels are 38 mm offset. I had to use 10 mm of spacers in front to clear the FA 500 coil-overs. In the rear I have 8 mm spacers. The new wheels dropped the chassis un-sprung weight by 28 lbs. I am looking forward to track events this season with the new shoes. DP

Not sure if this is what you're looking for?
