Fc Rx-7 no fluid coming out of master!
« on: May 23, 2021, 05:52:32 PM »
Hello, my 1988 Rx7 had a brake line leaking towards the rear, so i ran new brake lines and fittings in the rear of the car. Since i had all the lines out i took off my calipers and had them powder coated. When i assembled everything back onto the car, i tried to bleed the brakes and got fluid out of the rear bleeders, however the front were bone dry. I cracked the front lines loose at the master cylinder and had no fluid coming out there either. So i ordered a oem master cylinder and bench bled it with steel lines to ensure no air getting sucked through the fittings. When no more bubbles came out of the master i installed it into the car and the same thing is happening. I even left my bleeder lines hooked up and watched fluid come out of every port individually. So then i hooked the car’s brake lines back into the master and i am still getting no fluid to the front when i crack the front lines at the master. I am stumped. Any help would be great

Make sure the master piston is retracting all the way. If the pushrod is somehow binding and holding the piston partially depressed you can get problems. You should be able to feel a little freeplay in the pushrod with the brake pedal up.

Forgot to report back to you, having too much fun driving my car again!!
Lol, the pushrod in the booster was adjusted out too far somehow. Adjusted it and put the booster back on, all working now! Thank you for your help.
