@largeorangefont tree'd me.  +1 for a built up Raptor.  I live about a mile from 47 miles of rocky dirt road that wraps around the mountain here on the Big Island.  My jeep is fun (long arm cherokee) but add power and better go fast suspension with the utility of a truck (ease of 4x4 camping on remote beaches?)  It's almost a no brainer.  We'll have to see if my cruiser can cut it some day.

I'm not into offroading at all - but since all the tracks shut down, and it is kind of illegal to racecar on the street - I'm jealous of guys that can just turn off into a dirt road and do whatever the hell they want.

Ha, bought myself a "covid jeep" last year.  In the Midwest, there are not very many dirt roads to just turn down.  It is mostly off-road parks that are a good distance away....  Still lots of fun but it does take some planning/time.

We are lucky out west that we have a lot of open land that is BLM (Bureau of Land Management) controlled open desert to run in.

Lots of cool stuff out there.

Latest interests are F90 M5's, GT-R, and 911T (hate the stigma of a P car but really considering a 1K built up one)

To those that want a Raptor, I daily my 19 SCREW, fantastic vehicle that does fantastic things, that said I am still bored with it LOL.  Rides amazing aside from howling tires, meets all the off road claims (finally got to test that this summer), heck it even gets itself unstuck on the 19+ with the trail cruise function!

Excited to get the 7 out of storage and get a little more pep in my commute.  I have a dragy now and want to get a bunch of times to compare to some of the cars I listed above just to see how the home built 7 compares.

MAS280 had an 1800awhp GTR and he pulled the transaxle out probably 5-6x in the few years he owned it.  With something like 1K miles on the new car he pulled the motor and did connecting rods/pistons/ported heads.  He did something like 3 upgrades in turbos over time but even with a $25K transaxle built... the ETS failed a few times and it was like $5K to $10K wallet hits every time it came out (he pulled the transaxle himself).  I got to drive it at around the 1500awhp level and it was mental.  He "made" me do about 10 pulls from a stop on a freeway onramp up to around 160mph.... and one time I think I had it up to 180mph to dial on the launch control settings.  That car is bonkers... but you better have deep pockets to keep it running.

Makes a turbo LS RX-7 seem like a bargain when a new transmission is relatively cheap.

I've already made my choice, Porsche 718 Cayman S. I'm not sure that the 718 GT4's can be found for under $100k even used. And the previous gen GT4is slower than my S.

That choice was made after considering what seemed like everything, including Mustang 350R, Audi TTRS and R8, BMW M2 Comp, various used 911s, various Aston Martins, Lotus Evora, and the C7... the C8 wasn't out yet and I reckon that it's currently the best new car performance, value, & "wow factor" right now.

No Ferrari's made my short list... altgough i do love a late 70s 308 Dino GT4. [emoji41]

I bought a low mileage 718 Cayman S.

Beautiful Cayman!

Also, I’d love a truck like that as well, and I’m. It a truck person at all.

Love the Cayman, the only Porsche I think looks nice!  If it had a 2+2 config I would consider it.

The pre-runner doesn't appeal to me but my Raptor is just a bada** daily.  Ripped a 5.2 0-60 this morning too just playing with the Dragy!  So fast and fun but also comfortable.  The 10 yr old gets car sick and doesn't in the Raptor.

Tuned F90 M5's look so plain but are putting down some amazing times.

So I'm still at a GT-R, M5, RS7, 911, Ferrari California as possible candidates with back seats.  In that order....

Oh and a Tesla Model S, just not sure I want to go all electric yet.  Maybe one more amazing gasser before switching after the prices come down.

A Model S P100D. Cuz they're neato.

I really, really like what Tesla (both in my stocks and for the world in general) is doing and EV is the future. Plus, my kid is dreaming of working for anything involving Elon when he graduates.

My problem with Tesla is they use their customers as Beta testers.  Effectively, "we didn't test it well enough in our own development, so please do it for free for us".  As an automotive engineer, that just doesn't sit well with me.  I agree Tesla is likely helping push EV's be a more widespread offering by manufacturers, but the company itself I can't get behind.
