I have a strange desire to get this new subframe even though mine works perfectly fine. I just want a project haha

Install instructions posted both for the subframe and steering bits (plus updates to the 8.8 instructions since I was at it).  I'd like to get some better pictures but with travel restricted we still wanted to get things live post haste.

You probably need to reduce their size to under 1000kB.

I'll probably be ordering one.

Question about your 8.8 kit.... I would like to order one, but i already have the axles. And I dont plan on using the bushings in your kit, im going solid on all of them. Any way I can just order the rest separately?

Thanks

I got around to installing my new K member this weekend into my TT V8 Rx7.  Overall, it fit like a glove...  Initially I was worried about my turbo parts not fitting anymore but I was pleasantly surprised that everything cleared just like my Samberg K member.

One question for Joel, I installed the steering seats for the rack and cannot use any shims because the power steering hardline is just about touching my pan (fbody).  Little concerned about this....any ideas?

Overall, great job on the execution so far!

Any chance your motor mounts have sagged a bit?

Best guess would be sagging motor mounts.  I'd toss a 3/16" spacer on top of the biscuits between those and the pedestals.  There doesn't seem to be any harm in running them after they take a set but it's still better to maintain some clearance to the rack.  Make sure whatever you use for a spacer has a much surface area as possible.  I actually just did this to my FC and I used a hole saw and some 3/16" aluminum.

Do the C5 corvette alum mounts still work with new subframe?

Any height differences between using your fabricated mounts vs c5 mounts?

I had the samberg subframe too and swapped it out for the new Ronnin one. I did the "subframe only" meaning I re-used the samberg stuff (bump steer, trans mount, steering column spacers etc..). The Samberg steering column spacers were too tall and the line coming out of my rack would also hit the oil pan. I had to machine the samberg steering spacers down to 10mm thick so the rack would drop lower for proper clearance. They were 20mm tall originally. I understand the main spacer that comes with the Ronnin bump steer kit is 10mm and then they include some shims.

Also for anyone wondering, I swapped the subframe with the motor in the car. I put the car up on jack stands and used a floor jack with a piece of plywood under the oil pan to support the motor. When I machined my spacers down I made an exact copy out of wood (so 20mm thick) and kept running them own my table saw until I found what worked. If you buy the Ronnin bump steer kit you wouldn't have to machine anything.
