Thanks man, I like it a lot!

I do have some questions regarding 2JZ into the FD.
I already have my tweaked performance 2JZ Non VVTI to FD engine harness. I plan to run it with a AEM infinity, and one of their digital dashes.

Here are my main questions.
-What are you doing about tranny and clutch? (R154 or CD09)
-Fuel how much is needed for say 500hp?
-Cooling what Radiator and fan setup are you running?

Thanks,

I have a lot of info in my 2jz FC build thread. But for the most part-

Cd009 trans with collins adapter plate (old version that retains bellhousing) and custom trans mount

Fuel- for 500hp on pump gas you will want at least -8 feed, -6 return, walbro 450 pump, and 1000cc injectors. Id go with the ID1050 if you plan to stay on pump 93 only, but if E85 is a future plan might as well get some 1300-1500cc injectors for some room to grow.

Cooling- sizes may be different but im running an S13 mishimoto rad and their twin slim fan shroud

So got all the brakes and liens re-installed this weekend. Got the Hub nuts torqued down.

Went to bleed the brakes, and It didn't really go well. Front brakes seem to bleed decently. Rears however always seem to have air in them. Tired bleeding for over four hours this weekend and it didn't get better. Pedal stayed the same, fluid is clear and new. Just tons of air in the rear....

The plan now is to swap out the master and see if that solves the problem. I'm ready to drive my car.

You may want to try a vacuum bleeder.  Also, put a little teflon tape on the bleeder screw threads, (avoid the tapered sealing area) as that will prevent air from pulling in around the threads, and make the vacuum bleeding process more efficient.

Did you bench bleed the master? I used a cheap little kit that you connect to the ports up near the reservoir. Recirculate back into the reservoir. Most air issues are from the master and ABS.

I had just swapped out my master a month ago. After the bench bleed everything was super fast.

Hey Guys update.

The problem seemed to be a bad master cylinder. I swapped in another used one last night (Bench bled it first) then attempted to bleed the brakes, with a brake bleeder.
(I put Teflon on all the bleeder screws) after all that the brake pedal got hard and it seemed like problem solved.

This morning I came out to check the pedal again before work, and the pedal seemed a little softer then when I messed with it last night. I pumped it, and pedal seemed to get harder. I held the pedal down, and it held firm.... then started to depress more. let it go and pump again pedal felt harder.

There might still be air in the line. Might have to bleed again after work. I plan to start the car up and pump the pedal and see what it does before I attempt bleeding it again.

Now that my brake issues seem to be behind me, I decided to turn my attention to my exhaust setup.
Since I plane to enjoy the rotary for a while, before I swap the motor. I decided I wanted to at least get the car sounding right

Currently, I have a stock system with a magnaflow slip fit muffler. So, I jumped on FB market place and found a 3” DP and midpipe for a good price.
Then ordered a new Tanabe medallion catback. I wanted a reinhard dual tip exhaust but, the price and 5 month wait just wasn't something I wanted to do.

Excited to finally be doing some engine upgrades.

Completely agree.
I'm still very new to the FD chassis, but there are a bunch of goodies that are catching my eye. Coming from DSM we didn't really have much suspension or exterior items to distract you from performance. FD is different kind of beast.

Another JZ car. Woot!

hahah ya man! Hoping to get the swap done next year.

New exhaust arrives this afternoon. Going to try and get it installed tonight.
New steering wheel and hub kit arrived this week as well.

Put a couple hours into the FD this weekend.

Had a starting problem with the key, so after a talking with some people turns out the start cut relay failed. So I just jumped the relay....Key works again.

Following that silly issue, I decided to install my new exhaust. I removed my stock catback, and installed my new Tanabae medallion exhaust. Looks great! but car is still quiet. So I thought I might as well to install TT downpipe that I have sitting in the corner of my garage. That job wasn't to hard, just took longer then I wanted.
Started the car up, and it did sound better but was still to quiet. So.. I said F* it, I'm might as well install my mid-pipe, and just do full straight pipe on the FD.  :drive:
Ill be doing that install this week along with my new steering wheel.

Might still have some lingering brake issues.. pedal is hard when the car is off. But when It is on and the booster is pulling vacuum.. the pedal becomes softish again. It does stop the brakes but doesn't feel right. I'm doing the easiest things first and installing new booster lines. I'm hoping its a check valve. Worst case I need to find a new booster...
