Thank guys,

there are still some tuning issues to figure out. Car is running lean and 02 sensor are not responding.
'm having my logs and base tune looked over. But, its alive and I am ahead of schedule based on the timeline I gave my self.

knocked out a wideband gauge to help with tuning. On the hunt for a cheap boost controller and AEM digital boost gauge.

wasn't a fan of the pillar overlays available for the FD, also the speaker gauge pods are kinda expensive right now. So I decided to do an external mount gauge pod, I had laying around.
I think it tuned out well.

Update 9/16/2020

Car is back down on the ground for the first time in a year, and I got to enjoy my first drive with the new swap!
So little back ground, I was having issue trying to get the car to idle and hunt 14.7 good enough, that I could let it warm up and go over everything. The car was extremely lean and being inside my garage I could only let it run 1-2 mins before I couldn't breath, eye are burning etc. Got in touch with my local tuner who tuned my DSMs in the past. He does HPT as well. He sent me a base map and boom, car was idle right and 02 sensor were responding. Time to test drive and get a better log.

Very much a nerve racking experience driving a car for the first time, that you have been building over a year. Built the motor in my driveway, no special shop or tools. While scary, I definitely had that feeling of accomplishment.

Still a lot left to do to make it road worthy.
-Needs alignment
-Needs tuned
-Needs bumper and vented hood
-Needs midpipe with flex section built.

Nice mounting on the ECU, I have the same one for my LS2 and there is just no real elegant way to mount it and still have decent foot well space on that side. Looks clean and serviceable.

Thanks! Yea it was not easy to fit all that in there, the ECU is so big compared to the mazda lol. But serviceable was my main goal.

Update 9/28/20
First test drive didn't go so well, The car got hot 252f actually. Had a bad thermostat that wasn't opening, and fans wouldn't kick on. Car started to get hot, but when I looked back at the log engine was only hot 235 plus for 45 seconds. I went down the street and back. I don't think this affected anything as this time.

So here is what I did this past Sunday:
-Installed a new 160F thermostat.
-More coolant, and a lot of bleeding.
-also figured out I had my fan plugged into the wrong connector. So those now come on at 185F. (really think a certain wiring company needs to go back and look at their PDF instructions )

Took the car for another drive, and it held temp fine at 184-188.
Car needs an alignment bad. I felt a camber bolt move backing out of the driveway......

Picture of the coolant temp dropping during the bleed process.

Update 10/29/20

Hey guys,
its been a little while since I posted and not much has changed with the FD. Life caught up to me again and I got hit with surprise Vet and Dental bills... So things have been put on hold.
Since I can't afford to spend money on parts, I decide to rework some of the OEM parts I have on hand.

Decide to work on my hood project and get that setup on the car. Since I don't have a front core support anymore, I needed to do hood pins. Also found out my stock fuel cross over line hits the inside of the hood when fully closed.

Since my stock hood got damaged and would need a complete respray, I decide to just clearance everything that was hitting and make the hood shut flush. I know i will get some hate for it, but until I can afford a carbon hood this is my next best option. Most likely going to install a DMAX vented hood scoop soon. I need to pull heat out of this bay anyways.
