I don't know how many watch Rob Dahm, but he's pretty funny and I'm genuinly interested in his 4 rotor AWD project being a major success.
Take a look at this new project

What's worse is he's completely all over the place. How technical knowledge leaves some to be desired and his the rotor was a disgrace.

That being said, the 4 rotor, if it ever gets finished, is freaking amazing.

His channel is a black hole for money.  Sending him parts is like shipping your first born off to D-Day.

The half assed bullshit they pull and then complain when shit breaks is just ridiculous.  I guess when you have that youtube money coming in common sense goes out the window.  I don't know how he keeps followers when he literally never delivers on a single project.

That said, I hope the vette gets up and running even though I really don't know what it will prove.  The base car is such an absolute pile of crap.  C5's are dime a dozen and he decides to auction one and gets something that should 100% be written off lol.  But you know, using a salvage car with a bent frame and zero chassis mods is going to be the best way to compare FD vs C5 lol.

You have it backwards. If he is perpetually tinkering with stupid crap he gets more views. There is no incentive to finish anything and all the incentive to manufacture “challenges”  :yay:

yup, too bad this is the way youtube is.  I would rather see him finish one thing.  With my channel you will probably only ever see my RX7

Look at B is for Build. He "finishes" most jobs. Does a pretty hacky job most of the time. Once and a while it turns out okay but there are usually things left unfinished or just super jacked up. Like the last 10% of an rx7 swap.

OMG FD dream car. One month build trash effort.

B is for Build drives me nuts.

"Here's how to properly install a body kit"
"Tech screws into random body panels and kitty hair everywhere"

No dipshit, that's how a high school kid does it.    He's the epitome of measure once, cut twice idiocy.   I'm not sure that Rob Dahm is better, but at least he's farmed some stuff out to guys that do nice work.    TJ Hunt does some fairly good stuff, but as far as YouTubers go, I really like Tavarish.   He does goofy crap occasionally, but overall he's really good and does a nice job and follows through.   If you don't watch "Aging Wheels" you should, it's good dry wit and he's a pretty smart guy, also.   Plus he randomly does extremely dumb shit by accident and owns up to it.   It's fun to watch.

I watch B is for Build. I have to admit, I just like the guy. Even though I find myself frequently yelling at the TV, I like his pluck and his unwillingness to stop when he really should. He represents the vast majority of folks hacking up their cars from a skill perspective. The difference is that he finishes them, hacked up as they are, unlike so many car guys who go in with big plans and run out of steam after disassembly. I don't feel half as bad with my ham-fisted wrenching watching Chris weld some important structural piece with cheap as flux core welder (he upgraded last year and also made a welder buddy).

Just subscribed to Aging Wheels. Thanks for the tip.

Bad Obsession is probably the best show out there...real problem solving with minimal tools.   All I do is tell my son the new episode is out and we pretty much drop what we are doing and watch.

B is for Build started great, but seems to be getting hokey.  He's kind of between that "I don't know what I'm doing but I'm going to try" and that "I should be better at this" stage.    I can't stand Tavarish...seems like a rich dude that doesn't know what to do with himself.

Deboss Garage, The Skid Factory, Urchfab and StreetmachineTV are all ones to check out.

Deboss garage is actually good too.  Usually guys that are doing mechanic or fab work as a job are much better to watch, and I actually learn something.  Mike Finnegans channel is good too.

Hah, I also watch Urchfab, Deboss, Skid Factory, and Finnegan.    Finnegan annoys me occasionally, but overall he’s a good dude.   Skid Factory probably reminds me the most of myself out of all of them, particularly Turbo Yoda.   He generally does things the exact same way I would, while making a smart ass remark.

I think I like Tavarish because I started watching him when he was fixing cheap shit like Hoovies Garage used to as well.   The fancy cars and money stuff is a more recent thing.

I "cut the cord" about 2.5 years ago (ironic because I worked for the phone/TV company that I cut out).    So I have fiber internet and watch Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime, but really, I mostly watch YouTube because there is just a ton of interesting content on it.

Outside of car stuff, AvE and This Old Tony are great, especially This Old Tony (machining videos).    Bad Obsession (as referenced above) is probably the best done work I've ever seen, as far as just engineering the shit out of everything they do.
