Low profile roots blower options LS3

What are some options for a roots blower? Using the samberg k-member/cradle and stock hood.

Prefer not to get a cowl hood if possible.

Also read the dodge demon are breaking diffs. Does the diff brace make that much of a difference?

The TVS blowers are about the lowest profile available. Height also depends on how large the heat exchanger is, either way you're going to need a cowl. Even the corvette it came from had a cowl.

There isn't one that fits under the stock hood otherwise I'd have one.

The closest you get is the magna heartbeat. I think it's about an inch taller than a fast102 which means 7/8" of it is sticking out of the hood. The fast is a couple pieces of thick paper from touching.

Even if you ran without motor mounts and moved the rack down I think you'd still come up a hair short.

I've been thinking about this as well and having a hard time finding a way to SC the motor with a roots setup while maintaining the stock hood. Right now I'm thinking GM's solution  for the new vettes might be the best option and that is to create a shaker hood for the FD. Designing one that doesnt ruin the sleek curves of the car would be difficult though.

What if you could relocate the supercharger to the front of the engine?  Would take care of all the hood clearance issues!

You mean a centrifugal style?

I kinda like the low end character of the roots style

I picked up an LS7 rotating assembly with billet mains for $1100. Just need a block now. My only fear is when I pick up a sleeved block, will I regret having not gone to a 440 or something. MOAR CUBES....!!!

Anyone need some really good sub 400ci heads? :-)

^ that’s a good deal!!  I think that’s where I’m heading next.  7.0l or more.  Forced induction is great but too many headaches.

Agreed
425-440rwhp will put any FD into the high 10's with traction and 6speed (heads/cam/headers LS1/2)
525-550rwhp will put any FD into the high 9's with traction and 6speed (402ci+ setup with good heads/intake)

Remember that pretty much any blower with bracketry/intercooler/cooling upgrades will add 80-100lbs on the front end.... The beauty of our RX-7 swaps is the lightweight... don't really need all that power.  Mike (LS1-FD who used to frequent on here) had a 402ci setup with FAST90, ported heads/headers and a 75hp nitrous shot and it was beating our buddies 1000rwhp twin turbo '97 GTS Viper on highway pulls repeatedly without issue.

Also plan to overbuild your current cooling system as it will be inadequate if you have the Samberg radiator.

I'd be really disappointed if I owned that viper although I'd imagine there were traction issues.
