Looking for experience and tablet recommendations?

Logging the 4g63T on the old pocket logger and Palm Pilot is getting a little outdated.  8)   Want to install a semi-permanent tablet in the car to better be able to see with my 50 yr old eyes.

You can pick up an old Surface Pro 3 for pretty cheap and it's plenty fast.

I still use a surface pro 2 for all things car and it works great. Just wish it have the bigger screen of the 3.

With my setup, I have a USB connection for an Ostrich 2.0 (to tune the ECU) and another USB for the data stream for the OBD1 connection.   Can't seem to find a reliable Blutooth connection for the OBD1 and apparently tuning an Ostrich through bluetooth isn't reliable due to data dropout.

Not sure if Tunerpro will read data though a single tablet USB port with a hub?

If you use a hub it will work. The hubs are generally transparent the the end item. Only issues arise when you are driving something power hungry like a physical HD or USB 3.0 device.

Are you trying to tune the ECU through the OBD port while data logging? OBDI and II(early some have CAN now) are serial and can only do one connection at a time.

Yeah, USB devices (assuming power is sufficient) shouldn't be able to tell a hub is there.
