LS1 vs LS2 fitment in FC
« on: August 21, 2018, 10:56:00 AM »
I know this info is probably on the site somewhere, but after googling and searching, I haven't really been satisfied that I'm getting the most up-to-date info.

I have personal experience doing an FC LS1 swap, and Granny's site seems to still have a fairly comprehensive list of activities that are needed.  But I'm not finding as much info on the LS2.  Specifically an LS2 and t56 out of a GTO, but I supposed if there are significant differences with engines sourced from other cars, it would be good to know.

Will LS2 accessories (ps pump, AC comp, alternator, etc) fit okay, or do they have to be modified?
Will the LS2 GTO oil pan fit okay, or do the pan and pickup have to be switched out or modified?
Is the GTO T56 substantially different, and would it require a different mount or driveshaft than LS1?
Do any of the fitment issues vary by common installation packages?  I'll probably go with Ronin or Granny's, does that change the answer to the questions above?
I think all LS2's are drive by wire, so that would require either a gas pedal change or a throttle body change to work, correct?

Accessories:   GTO fit fine (they're basically FBody), Corvette are so-so, truck are generally no-go.
Oil Pan:  Need F-Body pan/pickup/windage tray.
GTO T56 - Need F-Body shifter cup and shifter, otherwise fine.

Fitment is otherwise identical to LS1, and the same across all kits.
