I am posting this for my brother who has owned the car for the last 9 years. I originally bought the car in 2003 with 80k miles on it and owned it until 2009 when I bought my rx7 and sold the mr2 to my brother who has owned it until now. I’m helping him out because I’m a longtime member here plus I also know some of the back-history of the car. Powertrain:

Engine swap + overhaul done September 2012, when chassis mileage = 158,344 --------------------------------
3rd Gen ~40k miles 3SGTE swap + LSD trans.
All new timing and ignition components + oil pump + water pump + HFH + HFHOE
Full engine reseal with OEM seal kit and ARP heatstuds
Clutch disk and throwout bearing were also replaced during swap (pressure plate was replaced 1.5 years earlier and was in pristine condition)
Head porting on intake and exhaust inlets/outlets
Replaced speedo cable driver on trans

The Good:
Mechanically, this is a very sorted car. There are no known problems with the powertrain and the car rides and pulls strong. Adult owned and never tracked. The current engine and turbo have always been set for 13psi of boost to make a quick reliable DD. Care has been taken to maintain the car and keep it reliable for both ownerships as this car has served as a DD in both cases which it has done perfectly. Engine is healthy, clutch bites, LSD trans shifts perfectly with no syncro issues, and there are no electrical gremlins. Cranks right up and drives like a car ¼ its age.

The Bad:

Paint. While there is no exposed bare metal, there are quite a few places that need attention due to being daily driven for 15 years between the two of us. When I owned the car it was resprayed after a low speed snap oversteer incident that ended up denting the rear passenger quarter panel (replaced) on a guard rail. I suspect the nice, but not premium respray is at fault. See pictures for problems spots. Car has great bones and is a good candidate for plasti-dip, wrap, or respray.
Dent – The car has a noticeable dent about the size of a 50cent piece on the roof that came from a previous hood coming unlatched while driving. It looks like something PDR could easily get out but haven’t ever tried.
Steering wheel – Showing its age with leather giving way at the top of the steering wheel
Tint = Llumar, but after ~12 years it’s got a purple tint and could use a refresh
HVAC controls – Missing its fan switch knob / AC button paint is worse for wear
Seats – Drivers seat’s stitching is failing in some spots (see pics)
AC – The system works, but has a small leak that leaks out refrigerant over several months.
Gauge Cluster - Has one backlit LED that has gone out on the drivers side. I believe I have a replacement that can go to the owner with the care sale and if not I can at least point them to the make/model so a replacement can be purchased.
Driver’s side window seems to be dragging on its regulator rails

Car is located in Columbia, TN right outside of Nashville. Selling to purchase a larger car.
