Author Topic: Anyone need or know of companies looking for manufacturing services?  (Read 3555 times)

Sort of a weird feeler here but I own a manufacturing company here in Iowa and while we specialize in our patent pending Anti-Sway floating dock frame as the foundation we have also divested and built large commercial marinas all over the US, with some unique projects like a floating playground, floating garage (boathouse), and a drilling barge.

We do quite of bit of 3rd party manufacturing.  We recently lost some large projects through no fault of our own (companies pulling back with weak sales) so we have a bit of capacity.

Our main specialty is SIMPLE steel fab, punching, bending, welding, packaging, and shipping.  I haven't invested into complex machinery as a niche to keep our overhead very low.  So on simple parts we do them cheaper, faster, and more flexible then others.  I am open to anything though and also open to investing in machines if the deal or need is there for a specific customer.

So ideal customer would send me a drawing, QTY, Freq, and what they want to supply or not supply and we could, ball park price and hopefully we can save you money.

We are always looking to diversify so were open to ANYTHING.  We like to say yes :)

I'll PM my cell phone to anyone interested.

Thanks all!

Whereabouts in IA are you located?
I'm in Davenport on business and would love to check out your car, if you're not too far away.

Oh well, that's hardly in the neighborhood, LOL

I've read so much about your car.  It looks gorgeous in pictures, and I thought it'd be cool to see it in person, and meet someone from the site as well.

Man.... I wish I knew you were in this business.... My buddy just spent 40K on his floating dock.  LOL

As for fab work, have you reached out to local automation machine builders?  The automation industry is going very well right now so that might be a good avenue. I know a lot of companies I work with in Michigan and Ohio outsource a lot of their steel fab/modular aluminum assembly so they can concentrate on other aspects of the builds.  I don't cover Iowa or MN but can ask my colleague if he knows of any places in your area?

Where is your buddy located, we may have done it!  I do have a fairly large dealer network.

I haven't touched the automation machine builders, to be honest I'm not sure where I would even start.  A intro to a company would be great!

Yeah totally!  If it was close I would never turn down a fellow v8-7 lover!

It is much better to see the car in person!

Just a update to see if there is any interest, Iowa is back open and as of June 1 our governor is taking away all the federal free money so people are getting back to work.

Materials are extremely hard to come by though.  Aluminum is out until Aug on some of my parts.  Steel is available but up about 12% from last year.

I have capacity for nearly all types of work, so not sure if any of you working for companies and struggling to get welding, manf, assembly, packaging, or even drop shipping of items, we can help!

The dock work is slowing down so I would like to get some other type of business going.

Any interest I updated the contact info in the first thread, thanks all!!

What kind of machining capabilities do you have?  I am going to need some parts turned in the near future
