Working at Karma would be pretty neat.   Don't worry too much about catching me, I am about out of money for a little bit with all the job shifting I've been doing lately.   I do have a week or so off work to hopefully push some stuff forward though...   :D

Truth, but glad to see you check in now and again.  Any crazy builds worth mentioning?

did you ever call Bill about a job with his company?

I did.  I'm interviewing with them next Wednesday.

There's also a dark horse job candidate.
https://keckobservatory.applicantpro.com/jobs/593717.html

Have two strong referrals with them, so it's viable to pursue and the job description is right up my alley.  I wasn't ready to uproot from CA for Georgia.  Hawaii, though that's pretty much a once in a lifetime type opportunity since industry on the islands are limited...  Anyone know anything about the car culture over there?

I have family and friends on the big island. There is car culture but it is limited. Lots of lifted trucks and some decent off-road trails but it is an island so you are limited. The nice thing about the observatory would be you could live on the Hilo side which is much more affordable. But also not as nice weather wise.

Ive seen some articles on speedhunters about hawaii, I think theres some pretty sweet roads around as well.  I wonder if parts from Japan get there faster than parts from the US?

Well, made a call.  I started earlier this week as a Senior Project Engineer with Bal Seal Engineering here in SoCal...

www.balseal.com

Quite a different field than I was in before but really solid company and like the folks I'm working with.  Pretty simple to understand product line with some really REALLY crazy applications.

! No longer available

Feels good to be back to work, but I'm missing the free time to knock out projects already...

Congratulations Joel!

Very interesting product.

It never ceases to amaze me how industries and businesses start up from the most intricate little details in design.

I watched the video of how the seals are used in the electrical and hydraulics area of an airliner. Cool stuff!   :bacon:

Congrats Joel, I think I have heard of them before.  I am in the medical industry as well and appreciate the slower pace compared to motorsports.  It gives you more time to work on your own projects!
