I have decided to sell my FD after 8ish years. Life has become a lot busier with work, kids, etc, so the car is going. Plus the cash will be nice/helpful.
It is a silver 1994 R2 (1 of 83 in this color combination) with 70k miles on the chassis. It has a 06 LS2 that came out of a GTO. Someone bought a new GTO with the intention of putting a stroker motor in it, so this was pulled with 250ish miles on it and purchased by me. I have put about 9,000 miles on it since it was finished 7 or so years ago. It has a T56 transmission, Hinson subframe, tranny mount and torque arm. Delrin differential mounts, Enkei RPF1s with Kuhmo Ecsta MXs, 275 rear, 255 front. KYB 8 way adjustable shocks, Eibach Pro springs, PFS sways front & rear, single touring oil cooler, power steering cooler. Both front hubs were replaced about 4 years ago. Samberg V1 radiator. No A/C, but it will come with a condenser and 2 compressors, one from a F-body, the other from the GTO. There is no radio. I had every intention of putting a nice double DIN nav unit in the car, but never got around to it. I do have a Boston Acoustics amp in the hatch that is connected to a 3.5mm headphone jack up front, easy to stream music from your phone…unless you have a new iphone! It has 2 6 volt Optima Red Top batteries under the storage bins, one behind each seat. There is a kill switch/breaker in the passenger side bin. Interior is in very good shape, probably a 9 out of 10. It is stock except for an Aeroforce gauge on the A pillar. Paint is in fairly good shape considering it is original. I have always garaged it, under a cover most of the time. There are some minor dings and scratches. One good scratch on driver's side door from the previous owner opening it into his grill. I will put a close up of that tonight. No peeling of clear coat or rust though. Peter Farrell was the original owner of the car, thus the PFS stickers above the cooling vents on each side. I am the 3rd owner.
The only issues with the car are a slight grind if you don’t ease it into 6th until it is nice and warm. Also, the speedo jumps while you are sitting still, it has done this since I finished it. I think the Dakota Digital box is bad. I have replaced the signal wire with shielded wires, thinking it was picking up interference, but it has continued. I have never bothered to get it fixed, so it actually has fewer miles than are on the odometer! The speedo works fine when you are moving. There is a little bit of clunking in the rear end. It could be the pillow balls, or the sway bar may need to be lubed, not entirely sure. It feels tight when driving though. I will look into that further over the next week or so and see if I can down into it.
I have autocrossed the car a lot and done a fair amount of track days at VIR. A friend put together a nice video from an autocross a few years ago, linked here:
I will post some more pictures tonight of engine bay and interior.
22k and it is yours! I am fairly firm on the price, and I don't have to sell it, so inappropriate offers will be met with inappropriate responses!
