Cruise Control Compatible with Autometer Guages
« on: November 01, 2016, 04:32:04 PM »
Sure wish I could get my cruise control to work on my LS-1 1993 FD. Have all the parts, but dash is all Autometer gauges. Any ideas? Can't seem to figure out how to get the ECU (or the Autometer Speedo) to talk to the cruise control module.
Been loving my swapped FD since 2004

I'm not sure about the FD, but the cable driven speedo on the FC generates a pulsed 12V signal to the cruise control computer. This pulsed 12V signal is sento to the cruise control computer via green/red wire (FC!) to the cruise control computer. I believe the cruise control computer just tries to maintain whatever frequency of pulsed 12V you engage the switch at. You may be able to supply a pulsed 12V from the Autometer speedo or trans VSS and maintain the cruise control functionality.

FWIW, I was able to do the opposite of what you're trying to do. I used the pulsed 12V cruise wire from the factory speedometer and sent it to my Megasquirt ECU to capture vehicle speed for data logging/tuning. Again, this was on an FC.

the Autometer speedo should have an output that's compatible with the cruise control
