PlusOne, he could be running adapter spacers to change the lug pattern.

That said, the sizes the OP posted still don't make a great deal of sense.
A 295/40r16 would be 295 mm wide. That's clearly not what's in the picture above as the tire would be 4.5" wider than a 16x7 rim.
A 205/40r16 is an incredibly short tire. Diameter = 16 in + 2 * (205 mm * 0.40) = ~22.5". That doesn't look like the picture either... Normally folks run tires a roughly 25" tall tire on FCs. For instance, 255/40r17s are a good fit in back.
Since you're looking at starting over with a new set of wheels and tires, here's about the simplest easy fitment FC setup known to man.
225/45r17s on 17x8+35 front wheels (stock 5 x 114.3 bolt pattern). Might lower the offset to +30 since you still have factory coils, can't remember how big an influence that is.
255/40r17s on 17x9+35 rear wheels (same 5 x 114.3)
Should fit well, tires nice and square, same diameter front/rear (wider tire has a lower aspect ratio) plenty of options etc. Side note on lug patterns: 5 x 114.3 is the correct pattern. Some wheels are advertised as 5x114 (which is probably lazy but actually a 114.3) or 5x115 which is supposedly different and distinct. Don't cheat. Stick to those advertised as properly 114.3 to be safe (the 0.3 is needed because this is works out exactly to a 5x4.5" pattern which is what we have)
