Can we drive it yet?  :D

This one won't be my typical 3 month thrash build... I'm trying my quality build skills, or lack there of....

progress!!

slooooowwwww.... but, progress nonetheless.

I want to hold off on mounts until I get the oil pan that will be in the car. I also have a tiny bit of sheet metal clearance work to do on the false frame rail on the passenger side and by the brake booster surround. Other than that, it fits pretty well.

Got the pan. Ordered some poly bushing for engine mounts. Also ordered a poly trans mount. I have a C5 new oem water pump on it's way as well to help me visualize the accessory situation. And finally for now, I am calling LJMS to order his 222/227 113+3 cam and spring kit.

This seems like this part of the process is taking forever.

I can dig up pictures of my buddy's E36 swap if that would help you.  I forget what accessories he ran

My good friend with an E36 LS swap is using Fbody water pump, alt, and powersteering/reservoir. He has the CX Racing swap kit, originally using their headers, but now its twin turbo with flipped up and forward truck manifolds with a pair of S366s behind the headlights. Those cars are tight but there is room for activities   :drive:

I bought a C5 harmonic damper from Joel a while back. I figured the more room I can give myself up front the better. I can make a custom alt bracket as well as power steering. I'd like to get all the parts first then work out where everything would like to stay.

So, next steps when cam gets here will be a disassemble, clean, gap rings to .024 top and bottom, stab the cam in, install BTR springs, order trunion upgrade, install pan, and then I can fit engine/trans for mounts.

I bought my accessory brackets from ICT Billet. They make brackets for Vette, Fbody, and Truck balancer spacing and many different combinations and configurations. Reasonably priced as well.

Prototype mounts are a success. Now I need to make a jig to make the final mounts, or just add some gussets to these and clean them up. Either way, it's been a painfully slow process.

I purchased Holley's 302-10 baffle kit and a high volume Melling oil pump. I was told not to buy anymore car parts until after Christmas (my wife found my parts list and stole it), so that's nice.

I also bought a Milwaukee deep cut portable band saw along with Swag Off road's table mount. This will be a hell of a lot better than a sawzall for building the turbo kit.

Lot's of parts coming in. Mounts are done. Going to blast them today then send off to the powder coater guy. Started on the engine last night and half of my rocker arms are worn in the push rod cup. So I ordered a new set of rockers with trunnion upgrades already installed. I also am looking for a M3 complete rear drop out instead of building an 8.8 setup. It will be much quicker and easier. 3.62 ratio will work well. Anyways, still working on it, slowly.
