NEW FC DRAG TIRE SETUP!
« on: June 27, 2016, 11:40:48 PM »
Posted this in 2 threads. Kinda fits in both. DISCLAMER: I HAVE A SOLID REAR 4 link setup and the rear is about .5-.75 narrower then a stock rx7. If you want to copy I would suggest checking backspace FIRST. The tires will fit with the proper back space rim.

Officialy found the limit of the stock FC wheel wells..... 28x10x15 hoosier slicks!

Setup:
Frontwheels:  15x4  1.75" back space

Front tires:   Hoosier  26x4.5x15

Rear wheels: Weld RTS 15x9.275 6.5 back space (read disclaimer above  :P)
Rear tires: Hoosier 28x10x15

Do your front tires stick out past the wheel wells cause you needed spacers?

And aren't 275/60/15 drag radials the same as a 28/10.5 slick?

The fronts do stick out slightly but just the sidewall does not the contact patch. These 28x10 slicks are the slightest bigger then my 275 pro's on the same size rim. They are also taller!

Do you need spacers to clear your TII front brakes? Cause with my weld racing prostars I need spacers so they stick out. Also how thick is the center 2 piece on those rt rims you have. Cause the prostars again are very thick and was looking at centerline or some rt 's also.

The wheels cleared the T2 brakes by probably a sheet of paper or 2. It was INSANELY close. And the thickness of the center I have no idea. Here is the link to them https://www.summitracing.com/parts/wld-71mb-509a65a/overview/

NOW dont forget I am running a solid 8.8 from a foxbody that has been narrowed .5-.75 per side. The fitment is SPOT ON PERFECT.

Ya no I have a solid 8.8 also. But I don't like how my moroso wheel studs don't stick through my nuts on the rear tires.

And did you have to shave that little tab off the TII brakes also.

The leg nut shank is almost an inch smaller on your rt's than the pro stars.

nope didnt have to shave a thing. They are ridiculously close but clear fine. The rts pad is pretty thick. I also run 5/8 moser studs with arp 12point bolts out back. Plenty long.

1320: I PM'ed you before I found this.
I've found several 15x4's with 1.75 BS that are a little more cost effective that the Weld 15x4.075 1.5 BS that looks to be the "perfect" fit. Is the consensus that the  15x4 w/ 1.75 BS will fit without spacers on the FC? I'm running FD front calipers so IDK if I'd have to shave anything. I've got stock wheel studs in the front so I can't really get away with a spacer.

Billet also makes a 15x4 1.625 bs https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bsp-rs045406516n/overview/
Should move it out 3mm

Wished u lived closer to me so I could try them on my car  :D  Really wanted to stay with stock rims like I have but 16" drag radials are hard to find.

My MT 275/60's were considerably narrower than my 28/10 Hoosiers in both tread and sidewall.

Rear wheels: Weld RTS 15x9.275 6.5 back space (read disclaimer above  )  BUT dont forget I have a solid rear end and the rear has been narrowed so that back space might not work for you.
