FD Heater core

Dunno if this is the best place to post but oh well. So I got a leaking heater core. Did some research and found old threads of people looking for heater core replacements. What did everyone end up doing? I am considering having http://www.thebrassworks.net/heater-cores.html custom make a heater core. I think they said approx $250. I just need to send in a sample. Ive had friends get custom heater cores done from them and they were really happy. What you think? Thanks

As long as the quality is there, $250 sounds reasonable for a custom item like that.

I've got a used one if you want it for $25. Last I checked it held pressure. You could either use it as a replacement or send it to the fabricators as a mock up piece.  PM me if you're interested.
I went through the search for finding a replacement core for the FD. From memory, 90s era Civics and Del Sols used cores that had the ~same exterior dimensions but their ports were difference. A shop could probably braze new pips / ports on the core but I never took it that far.

I paid a small fortune for a used one in good  condition. This looks like a great deal.

If he doesn't buy it from you, I'd gladly take it off your hands.
