So the George in me was being to curious and I decided I HAD to paint something to see how the color came out.
So I painted my intake manifold.

Extremely happy how it turned out! it looks different in every single picture and a different shade in every type of lighting. Needless to say I was really excited to get some material on the car now.

I decided I wanted to make the car more racecar now. Since it will be a fair weather car with a glide instead of a 6 speed I decided to do some more shaving on the engine bay....judge if u want lol. the cars going to run around x275 pro's and be inside during bad weather.

And I ran across this for a deal I couldn't refuse!

I've been torn between doing a 8.8 IRS and a straight axle. I wasn't able to find a lot on the live axle setup that Samberg offers so I gave Justin a call and decided I definitely wanted to go with a live axle. Before it was all said and done we had spoke many times on the phone. Awesome guy, I was very confident in the kit after talking to him. Well worth the money.

Heres some pictures of it being built
Samberg 8.8 straight axle kit
-Moser dif cover
-Samberg anti-roll bar
-31 spline axles
-SS brake lines

And since Hinson basically sucks and after trying to talk to them on the phone about some wiring issues without any help what so ever. I decided to get rid of their subframe. Justin Samberg just happened to have one of these laying around. So it worked out in perfect timing.

So since the FD's chassis wiring supposedly is known for being finicky, and my wiring had been hacked up by the original builder I bought a painless chassis kit and decided to rewire it..I think I may have bit off more than I can chew lol..I've used the factory wiring diagram but my degree is in nursing not "wtf is that"...

IF I ever get it figured out I'll make a "wiring for dummys/idiots" guide to rewire the car. I'm retaining- the radio/speakers (non bose), power-windows/doors/mirrors/sunroof. Lights- all outside lights. Interior lights- dome, glove box. that's basically it..im going to use a haltech racepak dash and haltech elite engine management. I tossed around the idea of speedhut gauges but then decided against it.

I've found the wires for the door's..and most of the lighting..I'm having some trouble with the combination switch though. Luckily I just need the lights to turn on as they would from factory. I don't have wipers so I don't care about all that jazz

So I decided to take a break from the wiring before I went crazy. It was time to get ready for the Samberg 8.8 straight axle kit so I decided to POR-15 the underside of the car.

My thoughts-
I bought their brush on semi gloss black and decided to do the wheel wells and the entire underside of the car. The paint turned out "streaky"..some spots where shiny some spots were dull..So I decided to call the POR-15 people and ask what I did wrong. So I did, and their response was "send me your address"..I said "uhhhh what?" He told me that I hadn't done anything wrong, but the semi/gloss brush on paint wasn't made to be aesthetically pleasing, it was more so for rust prevention. So he sent me two aerosol cans of their top coat for FREE.99. I'll have to say one thing, their customer service is second to none. Super pleased with how they handled it and how the car looks as a result of the top coat.
