Reverse rotation water pump = we have issues with using a 6 rib pulley.

Fix

T5 getting together

Mechanical fuel pump

Also installed the headers valve covers etc.

Also the guy before me painted it red...now it's faded to chevy orange  :punch:

Progress looks good! Can I ask why you are running a mechanical fuel pump and not using the in tank pump? With a electric fuel pump you can have it cut on before you go to start the car so if its been sitting for a while you don't have to run the starter for a while till the float bowls fill up. Just my thoughts on it!

Keep us posted with progress!

I'm going with a fuel cell not using the stock tank.

It keeps it simple is the main reason why.

No issue with cranking it for a min imo. Honesty I've never known it to take that long after a car has been sitting.

Progress is stalled at the moment. It's getting cold out so fire wood and getting the shop cleaned up is priority

Nice build man, I got 87 base with a 5.0 and a t5 with a carb. Let me know if you got any questions, I've had it running for about a year and a half now

Orracle- do you have any issues with heat under the hood? I have aftermarket headers, edelbrock performer intake and edelbrock carb and im boiling the gas...

Don't mean to hijack your thread but there is just so much heat under there!

I don't have any issues with heat.  I put too big of an aluminum radiator in it so it takes awhile to even get warm.  Also I have a big hole in the hood to clear the air cleaner so that helps to.

I'll see if I can get some pics later today.

Thanks I have a large after market rad to and the motor heat is not the isue it the fuel getting hot in the carb causing vapor lock. A hole in the hood would probably fix my issues but then everyone will know its a v8 car so its not a option.  :secret:
