« on: August 12, 2015, 06:44:52 PM »
Car is currently for sale.

Found out I'm having my 2nd kid  :) :D :gruffy:  !!!

Upgrading to a STI and don't need this project.

Sucks because I like the rx7 but need a bigger fun toy/DD.

Asking $3000 obo for all of it. Will separate.

Mods feel free to lock or delete thread.

Do you know if you have factory roller lifters in your motor, or flat tappet lifters? My motor was from a 96 and had factory roller lifters, but I've read mixed things abut which year came with what lifter/cams. I know that everything 94+ is roller compatible, but some got flat tappet lifters, while others got roller lifters.

Reason for asking is if you are building on a budget and you have factory roller lifters you can get a ford E303 cam for pretty cheap (around $200 new) that will wake the motor up allot more than the factory truck cam. if I remember correctly it should play nice with the stock heads/valve springs/push-rods, but shift the power up to a more usable area for a car.

I would love to do a 8 but the cheapest pile I found was $1500. It was a huge pile.

Was it black?

Heres the link. https://youtu.be/Qvndhjn8mzg

Rx8s can be had cheap. They have the worst resale of any car in history. I just bought an 05 with 103k and manual trans for $900. Got it all rebuilt and running with mild mods and Rotas for $2200 all in. They can be had cheap. Just gotta look around. I have a clean all stock 93 240SX hatch i was gonna swap. Its my daily driver at the moment. But im in Dallas. Long trip for ya.

Fwiw I ask my friend who works at rousch what year broncos or vins came with 351 rollers internally.  He said his paper work says 94+ 351 broncos are roller capable but nothing says which ones actually have roller internally :(. Guess I'll pull it apart.
