Patience is a virtue (My new HIGH mile '93 FD)
« on: August 05, 2015, 11:37:37 AM »
I created a thread when I first joined here but I figured that I'd go ahead and start another one. After about THREE years of searching for an FD that hadn't been molested, I finally found one. The car is a one owner, 1993 Touring model (to my knowledge), and the odometer reads a ridiculously high 28,870 miles. The owner was a retired oral surgeon and stated that he drove the car to Texas a few times and putted around the city in it so it was not abused and kept up. Enough babble, onto the pictures.

Like I said, ridiculously high milage...  :o

I guess you could say that this is one of those rare "barn yard finds". The car sat an auto shop for about two and a half years and was pulled in and out of a bay daily to make room during business hours. A friend of mine who does electrician work was doing some work for the shop spotted the car, contacted me, and put me in touch with the shop owner. After about four months of speaking with the shop owner I finally received a call from the owner where we negotiated price and set a date for pick up. Like the title says, patience is a virtue and it was definitely worth the wait.

Sharp looking FD.  Is that rust below the hatch glass?

Thanks man. And yes, there is a bit of rust along the window trim below the hatch glass.

Nice car, I love Silverstone.  My car only had like 50k on it when I got it 10+ years ago... and I've maybe put 5 on it since.  Blown rotaries keep the miles off FDs like a champ.  You can get another hatch easy, I wouldn't even bother with a rustectomy.

unless you own a turbo ls9 rx7 you do not know what the fuck you are talking about.

Yeah, I plan on ditching this hatch and just getting another one. I gotta say, I've never been a fan of silver but I do like the Silverstone. Not sure if it'll stay this color or not but we shall see.
