F/S 1994 FD with 2004 GTO LS1 T-56 Granny's -SOLD
« on: July 12, 2015, 03:44:36 PM »
I've enjoyed this forum (and the one which preceded it) as well as the experience building one of these cars…but it's time to sell. I completed the swap enough to pass safety inspection and get it registered in Texas, then I guess I just lost interest. I'd say the car is 90% complete, but I'll let someone here totally finish it.

THE GOOD
No-rust southern car (all Louisiana & Texas from what I can tell)
No body damage (except hood & nose)
Healthy, unaltered LS1 with under 30K miles
Ceramic-coated long-tube headers with cats
Hankook tires with full tread
Mostly complete interior
Strengthened rear end by Paul3rdGen (of this forum)
Poly bushings all around from RX-7 Club group buy

THE NOT-SO-GOOD
Some unidentified electrical gremlin causes car to lose charge overnight
Hood bubble/bulge showing small cracks where attached to hood
Speedo bounces despite Dakota Digital box
Windshield wipers work in slow motion
The new A/C compressor and condenser are installed, but were never hooked up

The Granny's mount required a hood bubble to clear the intake, so I handcrafted one which (I think) looks a little like the bulge from a Jaguar E-type. I performed this mod on a spare hood, then had it painted black. The original, unaltered hood comes with the sale. Also, I allowed the front end "nose" to twist when I removed it, and the paint is now peeling off (see photos). Like I said, I sort of lost interest in this car when I finished it, and haven't renewed the registration since 2009. I've just driven it around the block every few months…sort of silly to keep doing that, so it's on the block here. I'm between SMU and Central Expressway.  If it doesn't sell right away, I'll take you up on your speedo offer…Thanks. :drive:

Being down range is so frustrating.  If only I was home... or this was November.  GREAT price and a fantastic platform to pick up where you left off!
