Good job Gc3, that looks like it did the trick. I think mine will be getting redone this week.

thanks, im trying some rustoleum rattlecan high temp paint.
not sure how long it will last, but the paint flows well and hides imperfections pretty well.
definitely a harder finish than the regular rustoleum paint, and handles going in and out of the engine bay banging into things fairly well.
no idea how it will handle exhaust temps.

Vht makes header spray paint, available in most car part stores. It's good to 1000* F I think
meat is neat

I used silver BBQ grill paint.
You can make a barn door fly with enough horsepower.

Retirement at last.  Wife's not happy, I bought a '66 Rustang instead of paying off my F150.

I've used vht flat black and it fades really fast. I'm going to do my long tubes soon. Any other good paint?

VHT's 2000* flameproof paint is really nice.   I've had my manifolds on my car GLOWING before it still looks like new.   You have to follow their instructions correctly and prep the surface well for it to hold up.

How well does the vht keep heat in compared to wrap or a professional ceramic coating or something?

Same question here. I wouldn't mind doing these as well as it seems I have less firewall clearancing to worry about. Not to mention money savings is always good.

its hard to say, but it would be in the jtr range for these but cost would be cheaper without vband flanges and 1/2" exhaust manifold flanges

Can save everyone a bunch of money if you decided against brand new headers, used ones can be found for cheap on local drag racing forums :)

I've been all over CL, eBay, local forums, and some used race part forums looking for the correct bbk headers. I can't find them for less than $320.
