no but seriously Miatas are so much fun. but you.have to.aear a.mask around wben.driving it. local guy owns an LS3 with cam/heads and.fbr car js just terrifying. but its still a miata. no amount of.hp will curb my hairdresser.comments.

Rx8 probably isn't as macho or cult like as the FD but it's a better car in every other way. I've owned a few of each to know.

im sure if mazda released a twin turbo rx8 it would be just the same as the FD. Rx8 has better brakes, better suspension, better chassis (yes slightly heavier), better interior, better wiring, safer, easier to drive, easier to own,...... Should I go on? FD do look amazing though.

Guy with RX8 really likes RX8s.   In other news, sailors think boats are awesome!

I've thought about this a lot more. Trying to determine how bad each of the weaknesses really are.
Adding weight kind of sucks, especially without a lot of tire to back it up.

It actually looks like some crazies have fitted 275 A6's but I don't plan to ever move up to that aggressive of a compound. It would be nice though to be able to find a 275 width 15" Nt-01 though, which is the tire I plan to run on the streets. Looks like the widest 15" they have is 225... that't not a lot of tire for a 2500lb car.

EDIT: I'm also going to keep running this by car people that I meet. Seeing what the reaction is to the miata platform.
More than what other people think, I ask myself, is this car really me? And the clear answer is no it's a little soft around the edges, which I'm not, but if I'm lucky maybe I can toughen it up a bit. I think the roll bar, the right stance/ride height, and some minor tweaks and it could be a bad little roadster which is really my end goal.

I think the point is that even if it is better no one wants one.

Ive seen some fender flared, hard-topped, fat tired Miatas that look pretty damn cool.  I think you can definitely make one suit your style.  I just think it takes a lot of work to do it.  Even the basic swap seems to require changing everything under the car.  Maybe im spoiled by how easy it was to swap an FC compared to other chassis'.
