where is jordan? He should be in this thread communicating. I know he doesnt look fantastic right now but where a small community of car enthusiasts. Just be straight with the people and do your best to make it all right in due time. Its not like the TECH where you have to pay to be a vendor and hide if something happens.

So, a lot of the reason I made this thread was that several of the people here had privately communicated these issues to me.   I've pushed some of them to Jeff privately as well, but honestly I've not seen him resolve the issues I've taken to him yet.

I agree with the users here that Jeff isn't out to rip anyone off, but, and I've said this before, COMMUNICATIONS are key.   You need to talk to people, you need to commit to a firm deadline and you need to meet it.   If your answer is "I don't have the money to pay you back" then you need to tell people that.   I'd rather know that there is an issue than feel ignored.

My biggest point of concern is that we have a large number of people that are unhappy and have similar issues with communication.    When I purchased my fuel level gauge from Jeff (a Speedhut) a couple years back, he was slow in getting it to me, but it was exactly what I ordered.   I have been sitting here hoping that would be the case with these issues, but honestly, I no longer think that's the case.

It is my opinion that Jeff currently has a pattern of poor communication and failing to follow through.   This is not an isolated case or even 2-3 cases.

My recommendation is that we remove Jeff as a vendor from the forum.    From the sound of his most recent posts, he is moving away from doing reseller type work, so I don't know that it would be a big deal for him anyway, but as a matter of point I feel it should be done.

Opinion from the community?

I never ordered anything from him but I think with the large amount of upset customers we should take him off as a vendor. BUT give him a chance to make things right and be put back as a vendor.

Seems a pretty clear cut case to me that it is time to remove him as a vendor. Sounds like people have been plenty patient and understanding but when it comes down to it a rip off is a rip off.

This is almost surely a clear cut case of robbing peter to pay paul.  I wasn't going to say anything since I haven't had any personal dealings with Jeff, but I've had plenty of these type of situations in the construction trade.  If there's no attempt to right any of the wrongs, what would make anyone think he'd swoop in and just cut refund checks or suddenly fix all of it?  To make it worse, he almost surely used some if not all of the money to build his own car along the way.  I'm sorry, but you don't leave this trail of people behind with empty hands while putting expensive ass parts on your car without being aware of what you're doing.

I agree with Matt. If you take a person's money and fail to deliver product or service you have scammed that person. Intent is irrelevant.

Just because you run a business does not mean you are (or have to be) good at it, but stealing is stealing. Jeff certainly would not let you walk out of his shop with product you didn't pay for so the converse is not excusable either, regardless of his intent.

Yeah, I would say deactivate.  If he makes everything right and straightens it out, you can always reactivate.  This is sad to see... I hope you guys get your money back.

While I never bought anything from Jeff I can tell you about the transaction Mike (LS1-FD) had with him for the Speedhut gauge purchase/install.
Mike paid in full and Jeff then said your gauges are en route so send in your cluster/housing and turn around time should be about a month.  Weeks turn into months and Jeff says Speedhut screwed up the order ad they didn't ship the gauges out.  Finally after more weeks of Mike emailing/calling him with no replies... weeks later getting a text from Jeff with excuses ultimately mike did finally get his installed parts back albeit a couple months after the promised date.  The gauges aren't centered and IMO for paying someone to install them they should have been.  I bought the car from Mike and the gas gauge doesn't work properly and the oil pressure doesn't either.  Not sure if that is end user fault.  The non centered placement is an eyesore.  The GPS speedo is pretty awesome though!

I feel if Jeff still cares about his name and wants to do what is right ad resolve outstanding issues he should be active in this thread.  If not then deactivate him from vendor status seems like the next logical step.

IMO, being a forum vendor/sponsor typically is typically viewed as a bit of a safety net for the casual visitor looking to order parts.  Whether that should be the case or not, when a vendor is associated with a forum, bad experiences with the vendor often leads to a black eye for the forum itself.

In my opinion, it is in the best interest of the forum/fellow nor otters to distance itself from a vendor who is routinely displaying unsavory business practices/customer service based on member feedback.  In the event that the reputation is restored, it should be revisited down the road, with no guarantees.

Just my $.02 as someone who is active on the forums, but has not dealt with J.I.

I'm of the opinion that if you have multiple customers that haven't been served a month after the sale was made then you should be put on suspension / deactivated and the disputes should be made public. If the vender can get their shit straight with ALL of their customers during a month of probation then bring them back into the fold, otherwise make it perminant. In this case, there are multiple guys in this thread that have had public disputes lasting months that haven't been resolved. Time to take action.

The above is the the absolute minimum standards I would hold myself to and I'm only a guy in buttcrack Mississippi that builds ac stuff for the guys here in his garage. I would hope that if I ever go a month without communicating with one of my customers y'all would toss my ass out. Seriously.
