Hmm, that parts cost is surprisingly reasonable. Also glad to hear it wasn't too tough to do. The Cayman has interested me for a while and it's nice to get this sort of info.

Thanks for the update!

Glad to hear it's not too bad to work on.   I may yet get a Cayman one of these days, they look like fun.

As far as cheap, fun, reliable sports cars, it's hard to beat the Miata.
I had a mint 99 that I put an Eaton MP62 blower on.  Made around 190rwhp, and made the car into what it should have been from the factory.
I just sold it a couple weeks before Christmas.  I just have too many cars and wanted the space.  :D

I really tried to sell her on the Miata, but she would not go for it. I love miatas, and I know they are not the coolest looking cars out there.

The Porsche is awesome, but has it's quirky lil' problems. Typical shit with German cars.

Stay away from those Porsches unless you want to deal with IMS bearings.

The Audis will likely be maintenance whores as well unless you get one with LOW miles.   The Merc would be okay, as would the Nissan.   BMW are maintenance whores also, but cheaper and easier generally.

i used to have a A6 2.7T its fairly a low maintenance car.

I looked closely at a Cayman.  The S drove nice, but coming from a 500whp Rx7, it just felt slow.  I daily a Miata and love it.  And yes, they really need about 200whp.
