Spring rate in simple terms is what ever the lb rated on the spring, is the amount of weight required to compress the spring 1"

So if you had 600lbs over the nose of the car / pushing down on the front struts then a 150lb spring (remember 2 springs) would compress each spring 2"

So now figure those 2 inches are preloaded, like a snake ready to strike  :chug:

HAVE ANY PICS???

You're correct on the spring rate definition, but when installed on the car the suspension geometry provides a leverage ratio, making wheel rate different (usually lower than) spring rate.
With 150# springs, a 600 lb load would compress the suspension substantially more than 2".

You are 100% correct! I didnt want to confuse anybody I was just giving rough and tumble / simple explanation.

Used the same camber plates as phish. Then a copper pipe coupler, which I had to cut down and rework into a circle, as a shim between the camber plate and the strut since there was about 1/8" difference between the inner diameter of the plate and the strut itself.  I also used a steel coupler type deal (not sure what they called it at lowes) to space the strut hat properly.

Part numbers are as follows:
Strut- HR606SK
Spring-12HT150

Won't have a chance to try out the new springs for a few weeks but I'll report back once I do.

It's just so that I don't have to crank the top nut down a lot. The strut shaft was just barely hitting the hood without it.

Lol, yea it's kind of hard to describe without a pic.

I'll get you a good picture of the whole assembly when I swap springs.

Went to the track about a month ago,  With the Lakewood 90/10 fronts, Viking double adjustables in the rear and a solid axle out back, i went 1.39 60 ft.       I had way to stiff springs in the rear at the time, had the shocks set to full soft compression and full stiff rebound.   I bought new springs for the rear.  Went from a 225# spring to a 150# spring.  Hopefully this will give me room to use my rears like they are supposed to be.  We will see next time i make it to the track .

Thats awesome to hear!! I went with 110 rear spring. was thinking about going up to the 150. The 110 seems to be too light.

I just got my QA1's and camber plates in. Waiting on my coworker to open the bore of the spacers that came with the plates from 15mm for the FC to 16mm for the Camaro strut.

I was able to use the stock strut brackets like Scottie did. And no welding required.

1320 I went 150# in the rear and I was able to plant the tires very nice at a no prep event. And driving around it feels nice.  Well as nice as a ladder bar can feel lol.
