« on: October 01, 2014, 05:57:04 PM »
I dont know about you guys, but i hated these cars (C7) when i first saw them, but they have really grown on me.  These are just down right gorgeous!

This is the new C7Z06 and Z07 and the R.  Just a bad ass machine.

There are pictures of a dark red one parked on a street that just came out this week.

There was a red C7 base rolling down the highway the other day.   When it was off in the distance I pointed it out to my wife and said "Ferrari".   It wasn't until it got a few hundred feet closer that I realized it was a C7.   Beautiful cars and the C7Z is just ridiculous on all fronts.

You would be if you removed the engine from one and it sat in a garage for 15 years.

I'm a little bit disappointed by the z06. It is without question going to be a fantastic car. I'm also stoked to see what the 8spd auto is going to do against the dual clutch cars. Can't wait to see the reviews.

My only issue with it is that I don't see myself owning one in 10 years. It is really too much. It's too much money. It's too much boy ricer. It's too aggressive. I don't see using it every day. And to me, that's what the vette is about. It's the bargain performance car that you drive every day and enjoy til every knob has broken, every switch has stopped working, and every last plastic bit has fallen off. You're still hauling ass though because a service costs the same as your corolla.

What I really wish they'd do is a c7 carbon. Before the ls7 is extinct make a special build of c7 vettes with ls7s and some road course oriented upgrades. That's something I'd wish to own as a realistic car.

You want a C7 Grand Sport. They will make one in a couple more years I'm sure. No one really wants a narrow body vette, but they will buy them when it is the only option. Then they will trade it in for a new one with the big tires and fenders in 2-3 years. How many 2010-2013 standard Vettes have you seen on the road? I've seen 5-10 since the GS came out. I see GS Vettes everywhere.

Your option now is a C7 z51.. That's a pretty damn good car option. Bigger brakes, dry sump, shorter gearing, stiffer suspension..

C7 z51 is a damn nice car. It gets real pricey brand new though. I think everyone will regret it when the GS comes out like you said. I look back at the c6 z51 and just feel terrible for the people who bought them new lol.

Seems forced induction is the way of the future even for the vette now. I just wanted 550hp NA in a z06 type package.

Time will tell but with direct fuel injection they may well need a decoke every 50-75k miles as VW Group and Mitsubishi found out.

It's a vette, In 3 years a c7 z51 will be in the low 40k range.
