Where to find FC rear toe replacement parts?
« on: May 21, 2014, 10:34:32 PM »
So I called the dealer to order a new set of rear toe adjusting cams/bolts.  The said Mazda doesn't make them anymore.  I tried searching other places but come back negative.  When I went for an alignment, the shop said one of the rear adjusters wouldn't adjust and I needed a new set.

Well now I guess I need to order toe links instead since nobody makes these anymore?  Is that what people have to do with an FC?

I got rid of those bolts and went with adjustable lateral links.

Junkyard or the club.  Enough guys go with adjustable toe links that you should be able to pick up spares pretty easily.

I might have to check into toe links more, but if you go that route, what do you do with the stock eccentrics?  Replace with normal washers and bolt?

What set did you get? Did they take drilling at all or just bolt in with a taper?

Sorry, not sure of brand.  Got from a friend of a friend.  Yes they drilled out the taper.

The Parts Shop Max pieces look good and are a much cheaper alternative to AWR if you need toe links or rear control arm spherical bearings.

I just got their rear control arm solid upper bushing. I have not installed it yet, but it looks nice.

I used the AWR spherical bearings.  the kit includes the oval inserts, bolts and washers to locate the control arms at a fixed position.  I did not use the washers included with the kit .  I fabricated 4 oval shaped inserts with the hole in the middle instead.

My fabricated oval inserts:

I then modified my stock toe links to make them adjustable:

I'm also using AWR spherical parts and Battleversion lateral links for my turbo car build.
